Well third day of fasting for 18hrs a day eating between 12 - 6pm and running three times a week to lose last 7lbs. After a fast sprint run Mon i was supposed to be going for 5m slow today, i weighed before my run and had lost 4lbs so far, legs still felt heavy from mon. Wife drove me to a lovely waterpark in wakefield for a nice flat run. Started off far too fast which impacted on my total miles, only managed 4 and the legs didnt have anything left. So it was my best time but not what i wanted today, putting it down to too fast and fasting if you know what i mean. Sticking with it this week to see the full trial out but a bit dissapointed, realised today to keep it fun and stop challenging myself (that was my wife in my earhole on way back in the car), supposed to be retired!!! Keep running.
Fasting and Running Trial Update: Well third... - Bridge to 10K
Fasting and Running Trial Update
No need to bust a gut is there. It doesn’t need to be all or nothing. You can easily hurt yourself
Slow down!
Slow down..enjoy..that really is what it's about😊
Good advice above. 4-5 years ago did the 5:2 as a 4:3 and 7 days a week exercise, weekly calorie deficit 7000.
Shed 3 stone at 2lb per week .The wife and others used to say you look like death warmed up.🙈😂😂
Now, as a novice runner, at almost 75 and 80 kg would love to shed the last round the middle stuff, get a six pack back and not have to carry it , but hey ho loving this running malarkey too much.
Not going there again.👍
The pot can stay.👍🤔
Believe with building up to HM it will disappear anyway.🤔👏👏
Stay strong my friend and enjoy.🌟👍
Enjoy this gift you have given yourself, you are in total control and that is what this amazing running does.🌟👍
I was having a chat with a young gym guy about age, exercise, his sore knees, etc.,risks of running, 🙈🙈.
I said, I really do not care anymore what drops off as long as I lose weight.🙈😂😂
Joking of course, but it got me an end to a futile conversation. 🤔😂😂
Enjoy it all and run because we can.👏👏
Great post Tbae and wise words i will definately take note this time!!
I must catch up with your story in your posts.🤔
I cannot believe the medical benefits of fasting and abdominal breathing, due to our ancient genes and how it switches on and accelerates our abilities to heal / repair ourselves.
I guess over years we lose in some cases the way we did things when we were born.
If we wish to revisit this stuff it has to be done thoughtfully and slowly, a bit like the C25k adaptive programme.🌟👏👏
Your enthusiasm shines out from your posts.🌟👏👏
Was over 16st two yr ago now just broke into the 13 stones and aiming for 13st 7lbs, fell in love with running when i started C25K about 11 weeks ago when i decided to pack in work and live on savings for 3yrs till i get private pension. Life is fantastic at the moments spending time with the wife and my new hobby. I have always been in stressful jobs doing many hours a week and now its time although slightly early to get my body and future health in order. Doing a bit of volunteer wirk too with plenty of hols in between, two kids living in NZ so the worries of life are not as bad as they used to be. I just need to slow down, drop my competitive streak and let it come to me. All the best
Yes you are doing great.
Getting a good balance.
Good advice on here.
Caught up with your story.
Your powerful and fast.
So it is more important for you and others like you to remind yourself, as a new runner, you are still building and use all the guidance rules in the FAQ Posts. Mentor IT., has done a great post with all the links etc.
You need to give your body time to catch up with your brain.
I am a novice runner and the building is one step back to take two steps forwards, I think.🤔👏👏
Something you mentioned about trimming off and getting back to your fighting weight.🤔
The six pack bit,🤔 googled something a while back, Interesting diet does not do it , nor does some of the conventional crunches, etc.
It is the toughest place to shift it from.Think you might be interested to see latest thinking.Must try and find it again.🤔
Keep posting.Your journey and Enthusiasm is contagious.🌟
Keep smiling.Run because we can.💫🏃♂️💫
Don't push yourself too hard Guesty26 . Like you said you're retired and should be enjoying life. The running is keeping you fit, but you don't have to bust a gut, especially if you're fasting and all.
Happy running.
Good to hear you enthusiasm Guesty! All the very best with your plans.
For this to be long term it has to be fun! Relax, so long as you keep running it gets better and easier, but it’s not a race, and if you run when you're feeling tired from an earlier run you may be disheartened, or worse, injure yourself. It’s taken me about 5 months to go from agonised 30 second runs to really enjoying myself on 30 minute runs and longer, but it’s a journey ( I'm still on it, long way to go and good days and bad days) so take your time and enjoy
