1st 10k-10.5K run ( go over distance to allow for error, although being mainly roads its pretty accurate. Not fast at 77 mins but it's a start.
1st 10K but not fast.: 1st 10k-10.5K run ( go... - Bridge to 10K
1st 10K but not fast.
Hi Skeg ...that is a great time!!! Really it is...and anyway, you said this is your first 10k yes?? Well massive pat on the back from me!! Dont ever worry about times, it's all about enjoying yourself while you're out there π
Congratulations and well done on your first 10K. Itβs a great achievement. Youβll never forget your first 10K.
Damien
Well done and that is a great time!
Well done on your first 10k - this was about the distance, which you smashed,so it's ok to be PROUD!!ππ
Great job. First 10k runs are always fast as they set a PB! I think thatβs an excellent time first time out too... faster than mine was. Very well done.
Congratulations Skeg, that is a great time for your first 10K, yesterday there was a 10K in Scotland, the Great Scottish Run, there were hundreds if not thousands of runner's who had a time slower than your 1.16.57 time.
My first 10k was about that, maybe slightly slower. A year on and I was sub 59 minutes. Keep running ππ½
Congratulations Skeg, you qualify for a shiny badge. My first 10k was 77 minutes, and Oldfloss , so you are in good company. π₯ππ»ππ»πΎπ₯
Thank you. I was wondering whether to do another before my shiny badge
Dexy5, I have just watched the final of the 5000 (5K) metre race at the World Championships in Doha, it was won in a time of 12.58, by a man from Ethiopia now that's a time that UTS could try and beat at parkrun this Saturday, πππ
Donβt encourage him Al, Iβm trying to slow him down. π€£π€£
It sure is! Time is irrelevant. You nailed the best distance of the lot π. In my eyes that is π. Itβs a spring-board to going further. Should you wish to that is
Well done π. I hope you can keep making progress and enjoying your running
Good luck π
Well done! That first 10k really feels special!πππ
Well done on your so special very first 10k.
Perfect time as well in my book - I think thereβs several of us on here who think that is perfect for a first, having done ours in the same time!
Thanks. I'm feeling better on time now I read others where about that time.
Congrats...mine was way slower : ) you did brilliantly.
Thatβs amazing!
Thank you. Hope you're keeping running
Great time Skeg, well done. πππ
Faster than I
Not fast? Your pace is faster than mine for a 5k!!! Congratulations and enjoy your achievement
No, thatβs a great time, well done. My first 10k was 85 minutes and 4 months on, my PB for 5k is 38.25. I may be slow, but Iβ m still running.
Well done, thatβs quite an achievement. The time isnβt important , you can work to improve your speed but enjoy your victory for now, youβve done really well x
Congratulations πΎππππππΎ
Now bottle that feeling, and smile all week π
I did my first 10k about 10 days ago in 1 hr 22 minutes, it's slow but it beats the ones still sitting on the couch!
The hell it does. I did my first 10K too about a week back.
Well done on your 10K. Yep running must be better than the couch
Don't knock it, my last 2 5ks have been similar pace and my last 10 was 8 mins perkm. I would be chuffed to bits with those timings!
Congrats! I did my first 10K 2 weeks back with almost same time. However since I'm only a 5K graduate I walked a good bit of the way. Did you do any walking during the run?
Awesome! 10ks are a real milestone! I remember my first 10k race. I was bricking it...π€£π€£πββοΈπββοΈπββοΈπ€£π€£
Well done! I remember my first 10k run, and it was very tough. Believe me, keep it up and in a few months time a 10k will seem a normal distance to run, with anything less feeling like you haven't done enough!
Thank you. I read you've been continuing with 10K runs. I'm sitting here thinking if I will. Your post gets me to thinking I will.
Congratulations! The first 10k is a bit if an unknown, as you've never done the distance before. That time is brilliant! First PB! πββοΈπββοΈπ₯
Great run and time Skeg. Something to celebrate π ππππππ₯π₯
Lol !! I am in a patch where my times are improving Skeg but they are far from very good; there are some real racehorses on this site! My first 10k time was a bit slower than yours. I got it down to 1:6:14 on Sunday. The big change for me is being challenged by running with other people; I have learned, mainly through Park Run, that I can move a bit faster than I thought. On Sunday I ran the first 4K at a steady speed and then built up pace gradually over the last 6k ( negative splits). There was no finishing sprint. Sure others can give you a better steer.π
Well done Skeg and you are much faster than me! I did 9K run today and I completed in 1 hour 20 mins hehehe!
