Second Parkrun - First Wetrun

Learned 2 things today. (1) I need a shirt that isn't made of cotton to run in the wet. (2) Press the stop button on the watch even if you are dead last.

Yep, I think I was last. They all, even the guy with the double pushchair, overtook on the uphill, and I never caught them up. Never mind, I had fun.

EDIT I got the results. I wasn't last after all. And a PB!

Perhaps last.🤔

Wheelchair people are fast.

Bet you were right up there in your age related performance.

Your doing great.💥🏃‍♂️💥

Remember your last week result.👍👏👏

Yes, everything I’ve read says cotton stays wet, sticks to you and chills you. Can’t beat wicking material. I NEVER thought I would be a Lycra fan but it’s brilliant. Well done for your park run

Last rhymes with fast and blast so who cares! You did it which is more than many people. All runs count. And you are great! 🏃👍💨💥

Well done on your park run. Glad you had fun.

Cotton t shirts weigh so much when they are wet, I think that you deserve a wicking t shirt, you will find them more comfortable. Shop around, it does not need to be expensive at all.

I ordered 2 Fastrax 306 shirts with the C25K logo. I can see I'm also going to need... :)

You will be fast in those!

Exactly that’s the right approach... wow it looks fab is it on a railway line??? Well done too

Yep, it's an old disused railway line, gentle uphill 2.5k out of Keswick Station to the east, then back the same way. Really nice in the sun, as it's in shade all the way. And not too bad in the rain, although the trees mean it carried on dripping after the rain stopped.

Lovely people too, just like here.

Lovely picture, looks as they are all waiting for a train (that will never come) I don't think you were last, you had a personal best according to what I saw on the Keswick 5k park run website for today, well done.

It looks lovely 😊 and well done it doesn’t matter even if you were near the end you still did it 😃

That looks a great place for a Parkrun theoldfellow , and a technical top is definitely an essential buy for you. Treat it as a reward for taking part. We are in the Lakes next week but sadly not on Saturday, otherwise we’d look out for you. Maybe next time.

Please let me know if you, or anyone else, is ever at Keswick PR. I'd love to meet.

Ooh I’m tempted but I’d have to set off at about 6:45 😂

Fantastic! You must have a super elite ParkRun for that time to be near last. We have loads of 40+ minutes runners! Branch out to other runs! 👌🏽

But maybe not to winlatter pass 😂

Tasha99 profile image

Is that the super hard one? I’m tempted to pop over the penines to have a go 😂 Walk special 👌🏽😂

Sorry, it’s Whinlatter Forest, not Pass . Yes it’s 519th in the list of easy Parkruns. Ours is 2nd! You should be able to do it though.

I did number 510 near me. Fun!

Really? 509 is not far from us - I would prefer it as a walk I think. But it might be worth giving it a go on a cool autumn day just for a laugh.

Glad you had fun whatever, and got out there despite the rain! Don’t worry about becoming last - you NEVER will. Parkrun thoughtfully provide a tailwalker to take that position even if people want to walk the whole course. And don’t be deceived by pushchair pushers...I get lapped by one every week at ours!! 🙄❤️😎

Wow, I think it’s a great result even just to take part, (despite challenging weather conditions). So well done and kudos from me. 👍👏👏👏👍

You are not allowed to be last - that is the job of the Tailwalker!

I was Tailwalking yesterday and finished on 42.32.

Yep, a technical tee shirt but good news is that they are cheap as chips 🙂

Parkrun is lots of fun. I love the way a huge body of people moves forward together. All of one mind with Such expectation 🙂. It’s a force 💪🙂
