Learned 2 things today. (1) I need a shirt that isn't made of cotton to run in the wet. (2) Press the stop button on the watch even if you are dead last.
Yep, I think I was last. They all, even the guy with the double pushchair, overtook on the uphill, and I never caught them up. Never mind, I had fun.
EDIT I got the results. I wasn't last after all. And a PB!
Bet you were right up there in your age related performance.
Your doing great.💥🏃♂️💥
Remember your last week result.👍👏👏
Yes, everything I’ve read says cotton stays wet, sticks to you and chills you. Can’t beat wicking material. I NEVER thought I would be a Lycra fan but it’s brilliant. Well done for your park run
Cotton t shirts weigh so much when they are wet, I think that you deserve a wicking t shirt, you will find them more comfortable. Shop around, it does not need to be expensive at all.
Yep, it's an old disused railway line, gentle uphill 2.5k out of Keswick Station to the east, then back the same way. Really nice in the sun, as it's in shade all the way. And not too bad in the rain, although the trees mean it carried on dripping after the rain stopped.
Lovely picture, looks as they are all waiting for a train (that will never come) I don't think you were last, you had a personal best according to what I saw on the Keswick 5k park run website for today, well done.
That looks a great place for a Parkrun theoldfellow , and a technical top is definitely an essential buy for you. Treat it as a reward for taking part. We are in the Lakes next week but sadly not on Saturday, otherwise we’d look out for you. Maybe next time.
Glad you had fun whatever, and got out there despite the rain! Don’t worry about becoming last - you NEVER will. Parkrun thoughtfully provide a tailwalker to take that position even if people want to walk the whole course. And don’t be deceived by pushchair pushers...I get lapped by one every week at ours!! 🙄❤️😎
