Well it wasn't pretty and definitely wasn't fast (1:04:10 ) but I am really pleased to post that I completed 8.12 km very early this morning.
It was lovely down the canal at 5:30am and although cool the air was still thick and uncomfortable and I ended the run looking like a sunburnt beetroot .
Starting to believe I might just achieve 10k. I'm going to take two days break and then do next run (5K) at park run on Saturday.
Hope everyone is having a great week and if yor're running today, enjoy!!

My biggest desire back when I was there was to perform each run 'strong', to feel at the end of the run that I had done the distance without my form collapsing or becoming ragged. You will be on that podium before you know it
Thanks Jay. I think you're right, mental and physical preparation! After each successful run the belief that you can do it increases which you then take into the next run.
Great thanks! It's all going in the right direction. Getting the stitches out on Friday and in my head it'll all be plain sailing from there! Gotta be right!? Xx
Thanks Dexy. I know it is a ridiculous hour to be running but I am just too tired after work to then wait until 9-9:30pm when my eyes are getting heavy.
I am mucho impressed Lorijay. You are cracking along. I am not planning to join you for 5.30am runs, much as I admire you Glad to hear that you are taking 2 rest days. Your park run will be a doddle!
Thanks Paula, dont be impressed it's only time I can run at the moment due to the heat. Actually I've been doing the 5:30am runs for a few weeks now and just routine now. Definitely going to have 2 days recovery/rest for these longer runs, caution prevails!!
I did my 3.5 km last night in a new forest park. I was slow as I didn’t know where I was going. I’m bored with my regular routes. Loads of rain arriving tonight so it’ll be cool for my 5km and 7km. Slept through the alarm this morning. It buzzed for over an hour. I’m putting it down to the heat and my long run on Sunday. Nice feeling though
Oh thanks Bridget that's really nice of you. I'm now telling myself it's only another 2k, doesn't sound much ...and I'll keep telling the mind and gremlins that.
