Today marks my first official run on ju-ju's Magic Plan π.
Thanks to roseabi's "wonderful bridging plan", as it has become fondly known by all of us who have adopted it, I am now at the point where roseabi's plan cleverly merges into ju'ju's at the start of week 4. I am working on the timed version.
This morning I ran my short 20 minute run. I ran "tech free" - no Radio 2 today as I am waiting for my new earphones to arrive. This gave me the chance to concentrate on my breathing and to try to see if there really is a difference breathing in through my nose, as opposed to through my mouth. It took a bit of getting used to and I did catch myself reverting back a couple of times after pausing to cross roads or tuck in out of the way for dog walkers. However I do think it made a difference, beyond the obvious advantage of not being as likely to swallow a fly! I don't have it completely right yet, but I will be trying again on my next run.
Great you've started the magic plan Delly-dot. Nose breathing isn't easy , I can do it but not for a full run. Good luck with getting to your 60 minutes ππ
Great idea to be on the plan! Well done, I like the fact that it has shorter runs too. As for nose/mouth breathing, I was thinking the other day that it stops you swallowing flies! I manage nose breathing most of the time and do breathe in for 4, breathe out for 4, most of the time. Occasionally, especially if in the middle of a toxic ten, I breathe out quite sharply, making sure I empty out all the air. That helps. π
Great effort especially with the breathing through the nose - I've never mastered that and just treat the occasional fly as extra protein π€£ enjoy the rest of the plan. Happy running π€
Well done you on the journey through this terrific plan! Don't worry so much about the breathing. When you're mindful of it then it's good to practice but often what comes naturally works best, especially after you've been running a bit. I do run in and out through the nose for large portions as it's become natural.

Thank you GTFC. I agree with you about doing what comes naturally and I can usually switch off from my breathing. It hasn't really been a problem too much, unless the pollen is really high π€§π³π, then it can be a bit all over the place π!!
I usually donβt over think my breathing but just thought Iβd experiment this morning...... Hope Iβve not complicated things now though and find my breathing is all over the place next run π.
Aah my little Mexican mouse you made it across the bridge.!!! You'll be fine. Go with the flow and enjoy!! Breathing....??? Is that what I'm forgettingπ
Good luck with the magic plan, I think you'll enjoy it π you've made me realise I have no idea how I breath... π€ I'm going to have to pay this some attention in my next run π
