Completed Ju-Ju`s b210k today having done the 10k on Monday and finishing off the week with 5k.That was a long way to run considering it was done slowly. Hopefully I will get used to the distance as I did with the 5k.
I did not find it hard in the breathing, heart rate or legs department or at least on the day I did not. It was 48 hours later I started to feel the effects. Been tired all week and my lower back and hips have been hurting. Knees feel ok till I kneel on the floor then I need a hoist to get me back up.
Being an old ancient the only thing I find with the longer runs is I need an extra day or two to get over it which is frustrating. For me personally I find 7 k is the sweet spot with no after effect like tiredness or stiffness.
Come Monday I will start Ju-Ju`s b210k again but this time officialy, at least I know what to expect. It is a well thought out plan and gradually takes you from 5-10k slowly & safely.

Are you doing plenty of strength and stamina exercises too.. I know you garden? but it is a good idea to get some rest day exercise in... Plenty of stretches after the run, then one rest day and then a little jogette to keep everything supple:
It all evolves... now I am back to running 10K after the IC.., it is, in many ways easier than a 5K... the legs find their happy pace and just keep going... I am hoping it works that way as I carry on with my HM plan too
Got to admit Oldfloss I do not do any strength & stamina exercises at least not on a regular basis. I purchased some small dumbbells but for the life of me I cannot get into any routine like running 3 days a week, if I do not run 3 days a week I sulk.
It is only by taking on board what members have told me that I even reached 10k really. I will not be applying for my badge as to be really honest I did not think I would reach 10k so although I have followed Ju`Ju`s 10k prog I did not register.
Not to worry as I start again Monday and looking forward to doing it all over again and this time I have registered, cannot wait, gives me something to aim for.
I am sure you will reach the HM in time and I am sure we will all celebrate.
P.S I never realized the photo of a young lady sitting on top of a mountain was in fact "youngfloss" (-: that is very impressive.
Hi dindy, Congratulations on running your first 10k 😊...I agree it does tire you out for a few days...thats a lot of running in one go!
It was after my first 10k that I bought a massage therapy roller stick from Amazon (as recommended by Oldfloss) and found this is nice for unknotting calves...as well as the usual stretches and heel drops and toe lifts. Drink plenty of water too.

Well done 😃👍. Now you’ve got to ten k the world is your oyster running wise
As you get stronger your recovery time does imoreover, but I would include some strengthening stuff . do what you enjoy, be it cycling, swimming whatever 😃. I am 60 and have recently started going to the gym and have noticed the difference already 💪🙂. Yoga is great for post run stiffness, which you can easily do at home in front of the telly
Enjoy your running. Slow and steady still applies 💪👍🏃♂️
Well done and many congratulations! Your first 10K is very special and is a great springboard for everything else that follows 🙂 Why are you going to do the plan again?
I thought I had to register to run Ju-Ju`s B210K before I qualified for a badge. Must admit I did not know you can run any 10k not necessary Ju`Ju`s.
If that is the case I will put in for my badge,if not I have no problem doing it again as I loved the challenge. It is the administrators decision which I will respect.
I did Ju ju's program a second time to get to 10k again, and am doing it again now... I prefer to do 5k runs but like to get the distance up every few months.
Hi Bluebirdrunner. Thank you I have put my name down for a badge. I was reading ju-ju`s advice to a member, cannot remember who about running 10k. They did not think they could/wanted to run 10 k every week so Ju-Ju suggested running 10k every 2 weeks.
At the moment I also do not think I could run 10 k every week as I would be stiff all the time. At the same time now I have achieved 10 k I want to make sure to keep the distance up.Running 10 k every other week sound good to me.
