Fantastic work! Congratulations! Once you’ve consolidated your 10ks and if you are looking for more, there is also a marathon group for anyone moving to 16k and over. Just as friendly as the other groups 😁
Congratulations Bowlofsteam. Well done on your 10k.
You can consolidate on your 10k once a week or you can redo juju’s plan all over again or you could find a 10k race to sign up for. The world is your oyster.
That's brilliant! You are absolutely justified in being excited. I'm only just a couple of weeks into my consolidation post C25k - planning to do 5 weeks without any increase then slowly build up. Then it's Ju-Ju's 10k plan and a 10k race in September.
Woohoo! That is a great achievement. Well done you! ⚡️👍👏🏅🎉
I went back to running 3x 5km per week until challenged to get back up to 10km again by Runningroni. Basically I did Ju-Ju's plan again. Now I rotate a 5km, a short 3-4km which is a couple of km warm up then 5 x intervals up a short but steep hill, and a long run 8-11km. I don't always get 3 runs in per week but I always get one in, and often 2 or 3. I have a goal of 700km for 2019, and a couple of goals of aces I want to run. I do approx one Parkrun every month too and would like to visit more Parkruns as a tourist. I've got the Nike run app downloaded for when I get bored. C25k+ podcasts are helpful, as are Ted Talks. Hope this helps 😊
Big well done - I share your joy as I did my first 10K yesterday in the sunshine along a local wagon way in Whitley Bay as the Park run was cancelled. Feeling inspired and achy today but I haven’t run 10K for 32 years never thought it possible! I have a place on the great north run so looking to reach 21k by Sunmer - advice: enjoy what you have and take it one step at a time (literally). Happy running/jogging/ shuffling
Congratulations! If you do decide to do JuJu's plan again, I look forward to seeing you much more often on the forum! 🤗 And hopefully we can leave our bowls of steam behind us 😊
In the space of 6 weeks post C25K I'd done a 10k (on Boxing Day). This Monday (24th) I did 10 miles for the first time and I'm hoping to do HM distance in April.
I have a 10k race next Sunday (April 6th) and I've not yet entered one but hope to do a HM race this year around my C25K runniversary.
Its a bigger step from 10k upwards, listening to what long time runners say,. You have to plan better and carb load, etc... Anyways approx 1 month 5 to 10k and about 4 months 10k to 20k (ish) HM.
Read my profile to see how I ended up doing this running malarkey!
Snap....my first 10k was yesterday too...how amazing does it feel?? I’m not sure what I want to do now either...I know I’ll have to run 10k again though, just to prove to myself that I can! Congratulations to you...def consolidate...and just enjoy where running takes you x
Great pace!! I did my first 10K in Feb and since then have ran 2 more and a 10K race. I now try and do a long run a week up to 10K time dependant and have a 5 mile dash booked in for May and a 10K race for June.
Wow, I can’t imagine actually doing a race! I’ve never done a park run or anything... it does sound fun though- just hard to fit into my life right now.
