Good morning good morning good morning good morning!!
It's Monday, it's a brand new week, it's a brand a brand new month for heaven's sake!! So it's time to start off a new conversation π
Sometimes we don't feel like writing a whole post, sometimes there just aren't enough hours in the day!
Recent C25K graduate still building up to 5K? Consolidating 5K, or perhaps working towards 10K? Seasoned 10K pro? Wherever you are with your running, this is the place to chat about it!!!
Or even if you just want to post a quick hello - itβs lovely to hear from you all π
It's starting to feel a bit chilly here in Hove, but we are currently being compensated with some stupendous sunsets! Yesterday I wore a t-shirt instead of a vest for my run, but there was a last blast of sunshine and I ended up feeling far too hot π Confusing times.
What are you wearing these Autumnal days? Or is it Spring where you are? Or am I being too nosy?
Anyway, have a great week running, everyone!

I agree such lovely sunsets this last week. Iβm on the south coast too at Southsea. One day Iβm in a vest and shorts and the next run Iβm in capris and t-shirt. Today Iβve put a long sleeve top on but the sun is coming out so I think I will have to change to a T-shirt again.
For me it's early morning Sun but definitely fresher, low sun really should wear a cap to keep Sun out of eyes π
Still in shorts and short sleeve top but now starting to wear a long sleeve base layer underneath ...
1 more 14K run this week , then a recovery week before the magic 10 miler the week after ππstill can't quite believe that , 10 whole miles .. phew π
Not the most auspicious start to my day and the Autumn Speed Challenge. I always run straight after school drop off on Monday morning.
I went to get my gear from the clean washing basket where it had stayed after Saturdays parkrun. Pulled on my running tight/shorts and could feel what felt like a sticker pulling on my leg hairs. Bit weird. Removed said garment to see a very drowsy wasp, and feel a rapidly more painful sting developing on my upper thigh! Ouch!
I suppose I should count my blessings that it had made itself comfy in the leg rather the crotch area. π
I have to confess that I exacted revenge on the wasp, put on some antihistamine cream - and left a couple of hours before my run, just in case my leg fell off or something. It was fine.
Moral of the story? Check your tights ladies and gentlemen. Check your tights.
This could be my big week - fingers crossed for my first 10km. It's a road race with thousands of runners. Eeek! So my plan for the week is to do one comfortable 5km and stretching and strengthening most days. Pilates class tonight. Carbs for dinner on Friday night and my race is on at 10.30 am on Saturday morning. Iβm Nervous although I've run 9.5km so I should be alright, as long as I don't get crushed to death.
It was only 7 degrees oop North early yesterday so I wore my very bright blue brand new thin waterproof over my shirt. It was a 5k run to be followed by an attempt on 7k on Thursday (week 3 of the JJ plan). Good news is that I was warm enough and my breathing was not affected by the cold; bad news is that it took a whole minute longer than my PB set last Monday and I picked up a small tweak on the outside of my right knee through my putting my foot down at a daft angle whilst trying to find my watch under the extra long sleeve of the jacket! I continued the run and the slight pain subsided. I am still a bit wary but It feels ok this morning and a good swim tomorrow should loosen everything up. Will give it my best shot on Thursday; maybe I should take the jacket back to the shop........
