Run on my own or with a group

Well I am on my 13th week of running 3 times per week. I completed the couch to 5k programme in the 9 weeks and since then have done 4 park runs all under 30 mins. I nhave tried to vary my runs during the week in distance and have includedmy version of interval running.

I have now got to a stage that I enjoy being out with people during park runs and have found running on my own a little difficult. So am now wondering whether I should try and find a group to run with or just keep to drawing up my own work out plans

Any thoughts/advice are appreciated

Maybe look round for a club/running group to add into the mix. Sometimes the first one you try doesn't work out (from previous comments written on here) so if it doesn't just look for another one. On the other hand the first one might be the best group ever. Until you try you won't know.

I’ll second the above from Annie. Are you changing your Parkruns? Are there enough to have a different one near you?

At the moment I am sticking to the one I know whilst I grow more confident at running. In may the one I run at is not on so I will go to another one near me. There are about 5 other Park runs within 13 miles so plenty to choose from

I joined a running group after i graduated C25k last July, was the best thing i did, i have made friends and found a running buddy who is similar pace to me and we go out on our own if we don't fancy doing the club run, for me it has helped running with others. If it wasn't for the club i would not have got to 10k and now planning a half marathon.

You should join a running group. That way you have choice whether you run with them all the time or run on your own sometimes.

I joined a club a few months ago and while I adore running on my own I needed a shake up. I love running with others once a week but I run on my own the other days but if I fancied company then there is always someone around. Many of my run club runners only run with others now.

Give it a try, you have more choice that way.

I joined a ladies running group, which gives me the option to try out different things on club nights, and also try out different events (it’s partly with their support I did the Regency Run). There are loads of fab running groups near Cov, and I think many of them offer trial sessions before you sign up. Give it a go, if you don’t like it, you don’t have to go back😊
