Evening running friends, I haven't posted for a few days as I am away on holiday this week in Lanzarote.
Now that we have reached the end of this seemingly endless month I have just been thinking it was a bit of an odd one for me.
I started with a double park run on New Year's morning despite being badly hungover then the following weekend I went sub 30 for 5k for the first time at Newbiggin Park Run followed by a good 15k the next day.
I was then struck down by the dreaded lurgy for almost 2 weeks. I managed (or should I say struggled) around a couple of runs in that time including the inaugural Alnwick Park Run but my asthma and chest really hampered me.
Once I finally shook it off I purchased my first pair of "proper" running shoes (ASICS Gel Kayano 25s) and did 2 good 10ks, the second of which was my second fastest (1hr 3 mins just missing my PB) and included my second fastest 5k within it.
To round the month off I have so far had 4 lovely runs here in Lanzarote and finished January on 102km, my highest ever total.
So all in all more good than bad.
I hope everyone is still managing to get out and enjoy running and just try to remember that Spring is on it's way!!
Run happy, run safe.
