My heels are a right mess after last weekend. I was calling them blisters but they had actually already burst before we even got to my SiL’s, soon after Parkrun. I’ve been dressing them in the mornings and letting them have some air at night, but of course pretty much every pair of shoes I put on catches them and makes them bleed - the right one especially.
Dressing plus plaster, plus two pairs of thin socks on my right foot got me through walking around with my youngest grandsprocket in a buggy this afternoon, including a bit of a jog up the hill on our way home.
It’s such a stupid thing to bring me to a halt! Hopefully a couple of days not running will do the trick; I’ve really got my sights set on doing that 14k run that MyAsics has me down for on Christmas Eve. 🤶🏻

Hmm - I have LOTS of trouble with my feet, can't find shoes that are really comfortable but have never had any problems with blisters. I do find that I am very sensitive about my feet and even the slightest thing wrong (a grain of sand?) causes me to STOP --- hence I have never been able to understand how/when/why people lose toenails. -- or blisters
I bought a pair of toe socks in a sale earlier in the year - I can’t even remember what brand they are - and have worn them a few times to walk around in. Haven’t quite plucked up the courage to wear them on a run yet.
I smothered mine in Vaseline for the marathon but I still lost my toe nail and got a whopping blister. It’s the feet I think as I have umpteen pairs of shoes but still the blisters happen
Damn those feet 😁. Sea salt or Epsom salts in the bath or bowl. Dries em up - in time 🙂. You’ll be fine for your race
Posh shoes! I wore mine on Saturday night when I had to take the bus as I daren't drive on the ice I wore my big boots but took my high heels in a bag. I only wore them to eat my dinner 😁👠.
Blisters and dying toe nails seems to loom large as the distances increase 🙄. Don’t let it deter your though 😎
I know! Does your head InDoesn’t it I got a new trainer blister on top of my foot but it looked nothing. I wore a different shoe on the next run but when I started to run it was agony, even though it was a tiny blister. I had to drive home, put a plaster on it and drive back to the trail and start the run again 🙄
