After experimenting with beginners yogaπ§π½ββοΈ on my rest day yesterday and feeling like a very undainty elephant π (and not a baby one either) while doing it π΅, I soothed myself by saying, βkeep it up, I will no doubt get better in timeβ π€¨π.
I woke up this morning with the tightness in the hamstring all gone and I want to run! ππ½π So.... itβs run time!! ππ½ββοΈ
A quick 7 minute βpre-run yogaβ session from YouTube and out I go! Nice and early so thereβs not many people about and the traffic isnβt too bad π! I do miss the parks π³ π² , but theyβre still a bit soggy. Plus, adding a drive to the park through morning traffic is not appealing.
The fresh air and the boosted mojo made it a lovely easy βme timeβ run. At the end, I get a great surprise Halloween run achievement award on my app! Thanks...Iβll have it! π
And Iβve got an achievement for running over the 50k challenge this month ππ½π. I know itβs not that much, but for me thatβs a nice award to say Iβm mastering winter! πͺπ½
I do the βpost-run yogaβ session. Still no improvement from the way it felt the day before π, but hey...Iβve stretched! Iβll get there. π
The run is complete and Iβm feeling good! π
Happy Halloween and happy running Runners! β€οΈ

Well done Fab you are smashing the winter running. As for the yoga, it will get easier, the best part is when you notice the improvement after a few weeks and you know you are making it You will soon be as flexible as a π±
Ghost running for you today Fab450, glad you enjoyed your run this morning, however, as this is Halloween the real ghosts π» don't appear until after it's dark, I notice they are most active around 6PM. π
Could be UNM, these 'ghosts' are usually very young and accompied by human adults, I am sure the average runner would be able to outrun one of those ghostsπ» if chased. π ππΎ
πππΌπ What a productive ghost! And a YogaGhost as well. ππ I chuckled over the elephant yoga, as thatβs me all over. But it does help to have a leader to follow. Well done for mastering Winter. Iβm hoping for a glimpse of sun tomorrow to cheer me on. All grey gloom here today. π Youβre a star. βοΈ
Thanks so much NewRunner4! π€ I definitely think it will be great when I can get to grips with the positions π. Yes, give it a go, why not? π!! β€οΈ
Hello, I do yoga too to help stretch things out and also to calm me down. I try Adriene on Youtube, she's good and has different routines for practically everything, including running and lots of different length practices.
I have stiff hamstrings and hips, and after nearly 2 months of daily (sometimes very brief) yoga am finding them easing a bit. Not as much as I would like, but slow progress is better than none right
The emphasis on the breath of yoga may also help with running too.
Good to hear you're getting it so much & well done on the 50k challenge & being a ghost runner! Hope the yoga works for you, it's really helped me with morning stiffness.π§ββοΈπ
I'm finding it hard to get out there for running, but doing plenty of outdoor core strength digging new allotment, so happy with every break in the clouds π¨π
Hey...youβre keeping fit in other ways BTP! If I can get back on the wagon, I know you can. Iβm still climbing up too. π§π½ββοΈ We can do it BTP! π€β€οΈ
Sounds like the yoga and running are great companions for you. 50k in a month is completely doable, great target to set. Will you get a firework award on Tuesday?
Thanks Run46!! π€ Iβve enjoyed the running, but the yoga, oh it was shameful! π³ What?...Goes where? Is that right? Because mine goes nowhere near! And that was for beginners π₯΄ I was still trying to get into position when it was moving on π! So not quite as soothing and relaxing as Iβd hoped. But Iβm not giving up. Iβm going to explore other videos to see if I can find one that goes a bit slower, so I can get the basics right.
I might try a foam roller next too! π Enjoy! πβ€οΈ
I'm not sure enjoy and foam roller should be in the same paragraph but it is weirdly tempting in that though uncomfortable it feels like it's good for you!
Best of luck with your yoga...and finding a nice slow vid so you don't feel so uncoordinated, mind you there's always the pause button ππ
Ah thanks JoJo!! π€ Although it was for beginners, I think I have to find something simpler to start off with. Apart from being able to sit crossed legged, I was not in the least bit flexible. But Iβll be working on it! πβ€οΈ
