Virtual not quite park run

Well, I never thought I’d say it but it’s too flipping hot out there to run, we ran 4.25 k and found ourselves home, the thought of a couple laps of the local park to get to 5k was just too much so indoors and large glasses of water

It’s been an odd week, my daughter tested positive for covid-19 and i spent a couple of days feeling very scared but she’s on the mend just tired

Then in a rash moment I said I’d go play war songs on my sax at work for the VE party, all week i’ve been saying I’ll download the sheet music it can’t be hard to learn them, so 2 hours before i got my laptop out and found I couldn’t just get the music, as well as realising I had only picked it up once this year but it was ok and fun

So to running, we loved it but going to try and run in the evening in future, we are hot sweaty mess now but happy

Have a good weekend all and stay safe

Oh my gosh I’m sorry to hear of your daughter but am glad she is on the mend...... can’t imagine how that was for you ..... I’m a mum to one daughter. And as regards the heat ..... I found it really warm at 730 this morning!! 😮😅😮

Firstly I'm glad your daughter is on the mend , its scary and worrying for you both.

Great you got out for a run and yes it's very hot at the moment when running but you know what I'm very proud of the hot sweaty mess we come back in after a run. Last year I think I complained a lot about the heat but this time round I seem to be coping better.

Get plenty water down you both and enjoy the rest of your weekend 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️🌞

Thank you, we did get plenty of water down us and realising we haven’t been drinking as much water so a concerted effort to rectify that

We realised last year we were only just starting so not covering much distance this year going further

Sorry to hear about your daughter- glad she’s on the mend but how scary for all of you! Yes it was warm out there this morning but oh, it was lovely to be beside the seaside wasn’t it! Enjoy your weekend!

Thank you, she underplays everything but really hasn’t been well, inevitable really as she works at the hospital

Really lovely beside the seaside but way too busy we have a path that isn’t very wide and doubles up as a cycle track so we looked at the sea and stuck to the golf course for our run

Great hot run for you today. Well done on playing your sax, I'm sure everyone enjoyed listening to it. Glad to hear your daughter appears to have had a mild reaction to the virus. Happy running 🤗

You too on the happy running and thanks she’s feeling a lot better

Yes!! You did it and got out there. 4k is 4k more than nothing. I agree with you about the heat. I've been out first thing s few times but prefer late afternoon/early evening runs. You ran and that's the main thing!

Best wishes to your daughter too.

Glad to hear your daughter on the mend that must have been worrying. In terms of running I had intended to run this morning but even at 8 am it felt too warm. So I've out it off until tomorrow. There seems to be lots out there running but I'm afraid I'm not that energetic. I shouldn't complain plenty of books to read. 🤔

It can still be quite hot in the evening - early morning is best if you can manage it !

Glad your daughter is recovering - must have been a worry.

Thank you and yes it has been, problem is some days i start at 6 so would have to be up running between 4 and 5 then get ready then walk to work, I’d be dozing over my desk by 11am 😀

JonathanP profile image
JonathanPGraduate10 in reply toSueAppleRun

That would be a problem!😀

It’s very unlikely because i don’t often sit at my desk for long, I planned to walk to work in the morning but looking at half a dozen files, a laptop, clothes to change into when i get there and a set of hair clippers as everyone’s hair is getting long, i think i’ll take the car then i’m working from home monday so will have to bring it all back again lol 😂

I can't run in the heat at all. We left it far too late yesterday at 10 and I had to give up. Early mornings are best for me.

So sorry to hear your daughter has got the dreaded virus...thank goodness she's on the mend, I hope she's all better very soon 💕

As for the hot run, oh my lord hot runs are difficult, I really struggle...I'm torn about the weather now as I'm really pleased it's gone colder as my run yesterday was lovely and so much easier, but it was so nice to sit out in the sunshine last week which is highly unlikely today 😆

It’s tricky isn’t it? too hot to run but hot enough for sitting out, we want the best of both worlds, i’m not motivated enough to wait til dusk so will have to just get on with it tomorrow for my speed interval run
