Oh, happy day! Longest run yet...😀

Set out on a very cold, beautifully sunny and frosty morning, hoping for a 10 mile run. Up on to the beautiful trails and bridleways near me which were much easier to run on than last week, when it rained continuously and I splashed my way through puddles and mud! Today the trails were frozen - I picked my way across them carefully, some respite offered by the one track farm roads I also included on the run. After 10.5k, I returned to the local paths and quiet roads closer to where I live, really pleased to be feeling good and plodding on with that quiet determination you (sometimes!) get on a long run! My Garmin bleeped at 16k (my previous longest run) and I decided to push on a bit further, adding in a little extra loop to take myself up to 18k which my phone tells me is just over 11 miles! Back home for a quick soak in an Epsom salts bath and then a yummy Sunday roast, courtesy of my lovely husband! What a great way to spend a Sunday morning! 🙂🏃🏽‍♀️😀

Thank you! 🙂

Hi Sandraj39

What a superb way to spend a Sunday morning. It sounds like you have some lovely routes to run, around your home. You are certainly well on track for your HM.

All the best.

yes he came here on the way back to bask in the glory of beating another runner in the last 100m who he rates as a good one! 3 hrs later he was still here drinking yet more tea! Yes i'm fed up of this cough and only had that bit 2 days, hopefully it'll buzz off soon. well done again for today :)

Wow, well done you! That's great, and it's likely to mean your HM will be, well, like a walk (run?) in the park :)

Thanks Tomas - I do plan to cover the whole HM distance a few weeks prior to the race. I think this will help me mentally, believe in my ability to do it!

That is such an achievement Sandra39, I bet you were buzzing for hours/days after that. Most I’ve done is 10 miles but got a him coming up, you’ve inspired me. Well done.
