Longest run to date 9.25 miles

I went out with a new planned route in mind that should have covered just over 7 miles. Mainly trails with just a bit of tarmac linking footpaths.

Long leggings needed to keep the nettles and brambles at bay but it was warmer than it first appeared. I was determined to keep the pace steady.

I brought Lauryn Hill (The Miseducation of...) along with me for company and the laid back beats were a perfect metronome to my footfalls. Given these trails were empty I sang along with the majority of the album which went round again over the duration of the run. It was great for keeping pace slow but I'm not sure the sheep, rabbits, cows, squirrels and certainly the deer appreciated my efforts ๐Ÿคฃ

I stopped for a few pics very briefly, slowed to a walk for a few pieces of energy bar and sips of water.

Some of the trails were not as well maintained needing to duck and dive through the overgrowth.

One field ended up being a dud when it was housing loose, feisty looking horses. I'm not a huge fan of horses, and I've seen the damage a kick can do up close so I took a detour and ended up going round and round in one field until I found the way I needed ๐Ÿ˜

The way home brought me back through the field of evil teeth showing sheep I met earlier this year. They've become immune to walkers now though so barely even lifted their heads to me! (Thankfully)

A little spurt along what should have been the final straight but I still had more in me so went past my turning and on to the main road and up to the church to catch a view of the Downs and across the playing fields. I knew I had a 9 in sight and figured why not keep it up to the door for max distance.

All in it was a great run. Twisted one foot a little on some lumpy ground. Running off road needs extra care for footing at all times and I must have taken my eye off the ball at one point. Focusing on careful footing got over the twinge though and there doesn't seem to be after effects.

A recovery shake after to reduce muscle fatigue tomorrow and a good dinner. Perfect day off ๐Ÿ˜

Blooming brilliant, your field circuit reminds me of being lost in the fruit farm of all places last week, looks a great area to run in though ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ

I'm very lucky really, so much loveliness right on the doorstep!

I have discovered relative loveliness near me that I had never realised was there until I started running, yet another benefit that all started with C25K

We started to see just what we had been missing when we started cycling last year and now I'm getting to explore all the footpaths that are out of bounds for the cycles. Bonus ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜

Well done on your 'longest' run ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ™‚. Your route sounds and looks very much like my own..I love being out on the trails. Yes, you do have to look where you are going - I have tripped on many a tree root, even on the paths I know so well!๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿฝโ€โ™€๏ธ

It's such a different pace. Hard on the ankles to start but they soon adjust. Makes you focus far more on your footing and you find yourself jumping, leaping etc ovrr obstacles like a big kid ๐Ÿ˜

That is a completely silly distance. What are you, bionic? Next time, take the juggernaut out xx

Sounds lovely! The image of you running round and round the field searching for the right way made me smile- sounds like something I would end up doing! Well done on covering all that distance and I hope your foot is fine.

That looks gorgeous Jo, and what a distance! You must be so chuffed. ๐Ÿ˜ Itโ€™s wonderful when you set off with a distance in mind, and then think โ€œhang on, thereโ€™s more in me yet!โ€ and you can carry on. Sounds like an enjoyable jaunt. x

It was really lovely. I forgot to say, part of what I like on that album is the school kids talking about their definition of love. Makes me smile every time. Smiling away and singing to myself. Just as well the folk in white coats didn't see/hear me! ๐Ÿคฃ
