Did you live to tell the tale?

Well ... yes and no! What a day for the Bad Run Fairy to make an appearance, especially as haven't seen her for ages! 5k seemed like an age to get to, 10k even longer ... had some water at 10k, felt perkier, 11 and 12 came then my hip told me it was busted and to pack this in right now! Hobbled on to 16k and had to run/walk from there ... gutted as managed 19k in a training run 2 weeks back but it was a time of 2.30 which I was aiming for with the hope of shaving a little off so if I hadn't had to hobble for a bit I guess I'd have managed that too. 'Well done, there's always next year' says hubby ... at this point if I never see my running shoes again I'll be happy! (only joking, it's unfinished business clearly ;-) )

Good for you for giving it a go. I can't imagine getting to 10k yet so 19k is a fantastic acheivement. You know you were capable just had a bit of bad luck.

Definately unfinished business, hope you recover quickly and get back on track. Very inspiring post, shows you have a lot of gumption. x

Ouch, hope that hip thing is not going to be bothering you more than it already has.

I can't imagine how disappointed I would be if I had trained for at half marathon and had to drop out before the finishing line so I fully understand that you kept going despite the pain.

And hubby is right, you know, we are now runners, and there is always another race. You don't even have to wait a year, just find another one near you in a months time.

Owww hip pain is nasty but look what you achieved. Good on ya. Unfinished business indeed. Next time bind and gag that bad run fairy & leave her at the start line. We'll keep her busy while run. 😃
