Blimey - after 10 miles a couple of weeks ago I thought I'd head out on another longer route to see how it would go and yup cracked the 1/2 in 2:19. I confess I am totally knackered now but in fairness nothing like I used to be after my first couple of 6k runs when I started last year so rather pleased with myself!
Looks like I may have to find a good marathon plan to follow now I guess as that one seems like it needs a bit more serious approach? - any recommendations?

A few folk seem to have bagged their first half lately. It's a great achievement.
Well done indeed. This is a milestone distance. A super time too πππ
There are lots of plans out there online but I just did mine building up. I did HM lots of times then 15, 17, 20 and on a 22 mile training run just carried on. You're well on your way. Long, steady slow runs will get you there π½π½π½π½π½
Thanks for that - I need to run slower but do find it hard a) as it feels so slow already but also I find it feels harder on my knees going slow for some reason - still seems to be the thing to do so I just need to find a way : )
Well done on your first HM ππππ πͺand in a great time too! As ever, it's always worth consolidating a new distance like this to give the body time to adapt.
I admire your drive to push on though - when I completed my first HM, my first thoughts were "Blimey, a HM is running that all over again!"π
Thanks Sandra - yep onward and upward for me - my plan is a gradual increase but I think I am going to put more into slowing down a notch too as I do tend to give it my all all the time and that doesn't seem to be the way to go!
