New medication

Does anyone know of any new medicines being developed for anxiety. Why does it feel like there has not been any new break throughs for a disease affecting one in four people at somr point on thier life. Ssri were developed in the 1990's but what has come since then!

A quick "Google search for "Effexor" leads to the following links. I have not tried it so I have no personal experience, but information on the links would indicate that it is habit forming and difficult to get off when time is right. Side effects look similar to a lot of other SSRI;s and SNRI's

My question was more about new inventions or tablets that are being developed. Why dont they develop a tablet that works quicker than current ssri and with less side effects.

Even effexor was introduced in 1993. There surely must be new generation of tablets on the way!

Yes, but they will have just as many side effects too.

I feel we can rebalance our bodies, with our minds, the same as we can unbalance it too with our minds. But help is always a good thing while we are trying.

hi all,valdoxin is supposed to be for anxiety and depression,with fewer side effects than the ssris,my niece has started this,and so far no side effects,just one taken at night,helps with sleep,dr said its new.i supose its worth looking into,xx
