Well I think that if you have a good day you should be pleased with that fact.I have not had a good day for a while, that said I don't have awful days,i just feel strange every day and cant sleep at night so you have a little celebration on a good day because it is the best tonic, take care.
Hi Kelly, even if I have a bad day I try to find sometime good about it, even if it is small. Just one positive thing and sometimes when you look for one thing you find a few more. X
Hi Sessykel. I agree with Tara. A good day is something to be happy about. I've learned that life is too short to have bad, wasted days. For example, yesterday I had a great day, I got a lot done with a smile on my face, however this morning I woke up and my dog had wee'd on the floor, he jumped all over another dog on his walk much to the anger of its owner, he trailed mud all through the cream carpet, I hit my funny bone in my arm whilst running around and didn't complete my yoga, and now I have a headache. BUT, I am having my lovely morning coffee and planning some nice reading on my lunch. I used to burst into tears when I was having a bad day but now I try and place some good things into it.
Your days are what you make of them, although its hard, try and find joy in things even if they are small xxx
Hi Mandy, great post. Sounds a very trying morning, but love that you say you are putting in place some good things. It is hard, but you are so right, we have to try not to let this anxiety take over our lives. Im sure many of us still have our 'bad' days but personally I am trying to accept that unfortunately things happen in life that we have no control over, we all have good and bad stuff in our lives and we have to try and deal with the bad as best as we can and keep searching for the good!
Hi Kaz. Thank you It's definitely been one of those mornings! Oh, and my shower went cold - just to add the the list! Lol.
I love your point about accepting that rubbish things do happen. I used to think all of the negative things taking place were a personal attack on me and my day. But you are right, just accepting that they happen to everyone at some point and getting on with it is the best thing to do. x
Hi Kelly, only you can decide what's right for you, but personally, I try to do as Tara and Castle, because I think every little positive helps me. perhaps instead of celebrating, just try and recognise the good bits? Im sure even the happiest person in the world has crap days, but its learning to deal with them and telling yourself that the crap days will pass. If I tell myself I've had a bad day then that will creates bad feelings. If I can just reframe it, say that was a trying day, but I got through it and coped, then I feel a bit more in control.
Thx guys on the crap days what keeps me going is knowing ill be going to sleep seen as thats the only time I feel safe even though I don't get a full nights sleep today is a great day woke up a bit sluggish due to a panic attack last night usually all I would of done today is dwell on it instead I told myself it isnt going to happen today Kelly that was yesterday and it worked.
Well done Kelly. The more we dwell on the negative, the bad stuff, the worst we will feel. it's not easy, we've all been there, but keep trying to find those positives.
Excellent post Mandy26, you made me laugh out loud.
Some great advice on the posts above.
What is a good day, and what is a bad day?
A good day could be a bad day, if we were intent on practicing our coping strategies, it would give us yet another chance to practice. A day is a day, good or bad there all good, or "Good Enough"
The monkey mind as some call it, can act like a spoilt baby, so when we say I am going to have a great day, it will reinforce our negative thoughts and make sure we have a crap one.
when we say I dont want this or that to happen, guess what happens...........
So maybe next time, you could say "well lets see what happens tomorrow" calm the monkey mind, lovingly, but dont play its games.
