Hi tracy

I have no experience of these meds , I hope someone that has will come on & give you more advice than I can on this

Reading others blogs though I have noticed that alot feel worse before they feel better & do say they are worth taking , & things do get better & they are pleased they continued with them

Having said that we are all different & what works for one doesnt always work for another ...not sure how long you have been taking them , but if you really feel you have given them a good try & they are making you feel worse , go back & see your GP , there are different meds you can try

Hope you soon feel better

Love

I was on citolopram b4 my nervous brkdwn + did really well of them but depending on how long u hav bin on them the panic shl subside after a week or 2, im very sensitive 2 meds + a lot of them send my anxiety/panic attacks through the roof, ive jst finished a course of strong antibiotics that gave me panic attacks, u wld b suprised at wot meds can do this. ssris like citolopram + sertreline r really good if they work but a lot of people cnt tolerate them due 2 side effects + causing anxiety/panic 2 worsen. jst after xmas i was on sertreline 4 anxiety+ depression they gave me terrible panic attacks + strong suicidal thoughts. unfortunatly no 1 noes wot meds r bst 4 each person so its jst trial + error finding a suitable 1 but it depends on how lng uve bin on citolopram weather its worth sticking wiv, like i said if its more than a few week u shld go bck 2 ur GP. hope this hlos.

Hi. I've been on cital for 3 months now. Initially 10mg then 20mg. They made my anxiety and racing thoughts a lot worse to start. Apparently this is quite normal (although any meds affect people in different ways). After about 6 weeks I was going to give up on them as I felt pretty shoddy but then they kicked in. I'm glad I stuck with them now as I feel a lot better than I have in a long time. Less anxious and more positive. I feel more confident too. Some people say the side effects last a couple of weeks. For me it was a couple of months. I have a friend who had no side effects. We're all different. My advice would be to stick it out if you can. It's a powerful drug that your body needs to adjust too. I'm glad I stuck with it now, although I appreciate that at the time it's very difficult to remain positive and not worry. If you have any concerns then talk to your doctor. Stay strong and good luck. x

PS - I initially took my cital in the morning but come mid afternoon I was so sleepy and lethargic I was finding it hard to function. I spoke with my doc who recommended I try taking them before bed which I have done for 5 weeks now and feel much much better in the day. Far less tired. :)
