I suffered with this for a couple of years and happens at least once again but past year or so its been getting more common! I do over think at night but I'm finding it hard to control it, and to worried about going to doctors about it?! I just seem to shake a lot and its starting to get me down?! :(

Im sorry to hear that your suffering from shaking. I used to get this sometimes, I was thinking it was an excess of adrenline in my body, due to a stressful time. And not getting enough excercise and sleep . I had a lot of anesthetic injections which seemed to elevate my testosterone levels in my blood apparently. Which made it worse.

It can be the bodies response to stress or elevated testosterone.

I tried some herbal chamomile tea and eating oaty crunchy cereal or porridge or lettuce, which are all nerve seditives, soothing to the nerve endings and nervous system and helped me immensely.

Also valerian is a natural, safe nerve seditive and is what valium is derived from. Tescos have a very good brand of hops passion flower and valerian. as do Kalms I find both helpful.

May I suggest you also cut down the amount of green tea or caffeine you consume later in the day, and red meat.

Also meditation really helps, or if its a muscle thing, try doing tai chi and Qi Gong to soothe and strengthen the muscle and nervous system. As Any type of breathing meditations combined with stretching excercises, really are proven to be incredably effective with anxiety or with nervous disorders.

Try going for a gentle walk after dinner and when you start to shake you can do deep breathing or gentle slow breathing, and colour visualisations of turqouise blues arround you, ( or any colours you feel are soothing and comforting, as gazing at these colours has the effect of lower ing blood pressure. And repeat "I am calm and I am safe." I am feeling calm and and peaceful"

Also if you are spiritually minded you can even ask the Angels, to help soothe, heal , protect and guide you. I often imagine myself surrounded in a big colour fluffy duvet of light. lol ........ Sometimes its comforting to know that there is a higher power out there, just waiting to be asked, to support and guide you in healing or making any positive life changes you need to feel better.

I really hope this helps some as it has helped me a lot when I got really over stressed.

I would certainly go and explain to your doctor, don,t be afraid of meds, they don,t have to be forever and may give your mind the rest it deserves.

I used to go to bed with my favourite ballad music, eventually I found that I never even heard the end of the first track!!....worth a try.x

Hi

Can I suggest you firstly see your GP who will probably request all sorts of blood tests RELAAAX lol if you explain about the shakes he /she will state on the form this is the reason for tests., There are thousands of blood tests related to so many medical condintions I know cos my Daughter is a Phlebotomist. I know many of us on this site (including me ) have Health Anxieties so Panic and self diagnose life threatning illnesses but so often it is something simple like a vitamin defficiency which is why a good balanced diet is so vital.

Best of luck and in the mean time if you are taking any sort of Prescribed Medication DO NOT!! take any Herbal remedies without consulting your Gp or you can ask your Pharmasist
