How long on ad meds

After spending over a year on mirtazapine I was changed to fluoxetine before Xmas which seem to helping a little but coupled with trazedoene one naught time. Question is how long to doctors put patients on these. I don't want to be dependent forever but realise that in some cases they could be long term.

Hi I have been on Trazadone for 3 years and I think I shall be on them for a lot longer. I must admit I am dependant on them other wise I couldn't cope.

Hi flatwhite

Try not to worry about getting dependant on them , if they are helping that is the main thing

We do add worry to worry dont we lol

Your GP will no what is right & when to wean or stop your meds , if you have real concerns , go & have a chat with them , but I really wouldnt add this worry , every one is different as well some manage without meds , others for a short time , others longer , but your GP will no the best course for you

I sometimes feel I cannot ask my GP questions , they will get fed up of me & so on , but then I have to remember that is what they are there for & so i do ask

Hoping to go myself next week , i have a list for them , so I hope they are in a good mood :-)
