Hello

I know how hard it must have been to start the medication but also you must have got to a stage where you knew you needed something to help and they will but they can take up to 3 months sometimes before they fully start working but 4 days is not long enough

I would have thought 3 to 4 weeks and you should start feeling a difference :-)

Give them a really good chance and see how you feel when you have taken them for 4 weeks , if you are not happy then I would talk with my Doctor

Let us know how you get on :-)

Take Care x

That is all you can ever ask of yourself to do your best , so feel proud that you are :-)

You will be happy again and enjoying life with your precious Daughter but with this we do have to be patient , I know that is never easy but if you accept that it will take a short while it will help and will help your anxiety you feel as well :-) x

Hi

I have now been taking Citilopram for about 4 weeks and am starting to feel less anxious. I know it feels like a long time to feel better at the moment. But stick with it!!xx

I'm on Prozac and after trying quite a few meds this one seems to be helping but it does take about a month before you feel any difference hopefully to the better. It's trial and error with these drugs .. Citalopram didn't suit me at all Nor did Amotryptaline made me worse . Good luck and "keep taking the tablets " 😉😉😉

Depression and anxiety often come hand in hand. So don't be surprised if you feel depressed. You don't say what drug you are taking but it seems from the other responses you're assumed to be taking an antidepressant with antianxiety properties. In that case it can take up to 4-6 weeks to feel almost the full effects with some relief being felt as early as the 2nd week for some people. Each of us is unique and different. As Bounce noted, you can also take as much as 3 months to fully feel settled in with the new medication but that's more of a fine tuning type of action; you'll be feeling good long before then if this drug is right for you.

You actually state you started antianxiety medication which is not an antidepressant but usually a benzodiazepine which acts almost immediately. Your anxiety would start to be under control almost right away with some still occurring as you get used to the drug and your body gets regulated to the dosage. You do mention you have some anxiety here and there. So this fits with a description of a benzodiazepine. I'm still guessing that you meant you are on an antidepressant with antianxiety properties.

I wish you the best of health and hope this drug is a good fit for you. Let us know how you are doing in a few weeks if you will.

Sfqueen hi , some tablets don't agree with some people, the one I had before was awful for me so I was put on sertraline as it is a very gentle drug on the system. I have never had any side affects from this drug thankfully 😊 What are you taking ATM ? X

That's so weird how everyone is so different. I know people on sentraline and they are fine. So now I am bustorine 2x 7.5mg. I hope this helps with my intrusive thoughts :( as well as with my anxiety

I've never heard of that drug , but if you havnt had any side affects after a few days then you shouldn't get any !!

That's what the hospital said to me as I was worried about taking a different tablet as the other one was so bad for me !! But it was true and now I'm doing really good on it, don't get me wrong I still have some bad days but they are copeable and it has helped me get my life back on track 😊

I live in the uk maybe that's why I don't know the name of your meds. Keep with it though and let me know how you get on x
