So i need advice my therapist suggests I give medications a try again..i hate meds because they arent natural and could potentially harm your body in the long run!

Now I used to be on a ton of meds when I was younger and felt like a LAB RAT because id try the newest crap each time something came out.. that wasnt the case because as you get older you apparently need to go to a different drug so my old doctor said LOL any way thats why i felt like a lab rat cause when i was young I was on concerta then I aged and went to adderall so i felt like a lab rat

Any way

I have a new fear if pills because I do not want to be a Customer to BIG PHARMA and have toxic medications that can actually cause more problems long term SSURE they HELP but what my fear is WHAT IS IT DOING to ALTER my chemicals in my brain IT CANT BE GOOD look at all the side effect warnings and potential hazards like why ingest something with so much side effects?!?!

i suggested having a LAST CASe scenario pill such as xanax but no doctor wants to prescribe such a drug in NEW YORK atleast not in my town or near my town -_- any way he suggest trying ZOLOFT again

I said Nope been there dine that why gave a drug I do not need to be taking DAILY whnr my issue is only when i leave my town? I just meed a last case scenario drug i said and he said e would send me some links of medications that he thinks I should try

I DO NOT WANT MEDS i just want to be DONE WITH anxiety NATURALLY

Im just ANTI BIG OHARMA and ill NEVER GET OVER IT so please DO NOT lecture me about how good it will be because in the end IT MESSING WITH SOMETHING and the side effects say otherwise..

Do you guys know of any anxiety meds that can be taken in the exact moment your having a panic attack that will ease it right then and there? I refuse to take some crap DAILY i want a pill like xanax or XANAX

Ugh! The thought if being on pills just makes me anxious.

I dont want it but i dont think i will get better with out something other than my techniques.. idk

Other than that my therapist wants me to write what triggers me and so now im gonna just travel abd if im anxious and thinking im gonna pull over or stop what im doing and start writing my triggers or thoughts to beter help him understand..

I also think what im looking for isnt out there -_-

Plus when your on meds you gotta be more careful drinking and I dont wanna have y calculate how much beer im drinking or be a LIGHTWEIGHT if i do end up drinking which is RARE anyway but

If im gonna be invited to a BAR i wanna be able to KEEP UP and ill know my limits but if im on MEDS

I shouldnt drink when its in my system but even giving i a day off to drink isnt good either because if you have been kn the meds for months and months its stil lin your system from the last oral intake -_-

HELP please.. just need advice on whats good like xanax but not as addictive or powerful i suppose

Thanks in advance

you sound like me I hate taking pills but so far its helping, Xanax did work great and almost instant I took that a few years only when I needed it, maybe once a week here and there or twice. But when this came back full force they took me off and not on .25 ativan twice a day as needed and prozac 10mg.

I hear prozac has terrible long term affects this is a huge reason i refuse medications.. you do not know what is in that crap its like ORGANIC i can slap an ORGANIC label on anything DOESNT MEAN ITS TRUE.. you can slap a label on pills saying its for good cause and have it do more harm than good..

xanax will never be given to me doctors in my area refuse to prescribe it.. they nust think imcgonna sell it -_- sigh i really wanna try it too!! But they wont give me it says its too strong and they dont like prescribing it WELL MUTHA TRUCKER i want XANAX

If you were seriously diabetic would you refuse insulin? If glaucoma was destroying your sight would you refuse eye pressure lowering medication? If you had deep vein thrombosis in your leg would you refuse blood thinners? Why should anxiety be any different? Anxiety about anti-anxiety medications is just another symptom of anxiety.

Diazepam was originally synthesised from the rawalwulfa root used in India for hundreds of years to control hysteria. Digoxin came from foxgloves to relieve heart failure. Aspirin came from willow tree bark used fir centuries to relieve pain. Verbona also known as lemon balm is a natural tranquilliser and has been used as such since ancient times. St Johns Wort has likewise been used for depression.

I suppose we view things different when it's our mind - we'll be happy to take anti biotics if we've a poison toe but when it's our brain, hey, that's a bit too close to home. A pain in the toe is one thing, possible nightmares are something else. That's why this forum can help, asking others what theur experience of a med were. Benzodiazepams are a magic bullet when properly used, they helped me earn a living and support my family in the 1970s and 1980s and the tricyclic amitriptyline kept me going through a tough patch in the 1990s. That was before I decided to take Claire Weekes' advice seriously.

Yeah in my head that poison toe can be cured wit some natural root and i dont even take advil for headache i drink water and apply peppermint oil at the location i am THAT STRICT with pills i had tonsilitis refused to take antibiotics they had to inject them in my veins.. any how after surgery i refused my oxycodone and dealt with the pain on my own.. it sucked but i lived.. but yeah i gotcha thanks for the knwoledge is powerful :) love it !

The best remedy is to go through the panic attacks and let it all happen without running away, physically or mentally. It is just a surge of energy and completely harmless but your fear of them keeps them coming. The more times you walk through the storm and learn to relax your attitude and not add more fear to those panic attacks, they will gradually lose their power and melt away. It’s all in Dr Claire Weekes’ books. Acceptance of the symptoms will cure all anxiety disorders naturally but do not be averse to taking something to take the edge of things whilst still practising acceptance. For me personally, I decided early on not to take medication and recovered naturally, I learned that whilst the symptoms of anxiety were very uncomfortable, they were completely harmless and the thoughts that came with the anxiety were grossly exaggerated and false. It took a while for me to really let go of all the symptoms and put up zero resistance. It was still rough for a while but the mind and body gradually sorted themselves out and peace returned.

I am not a doctor but realise that medication is helpful to some but I’m a firm believer in that it is only masks the symptoms or serves as a crutch. So long as a person still holds fear about the symptoms and has not learned how to cope with them the right way by continually passing through the storm and gradually losing the fear, it leaves the door open for anxiety to return. Fear of the symptoms, whether they are physical or mental, is the only thing that keeps feeding anxiety. Lose the fear and it disappears. Lose the fear and you will never again suffer like you have done. For me, I honestly don’t care if it does come back because I’ve went through that storm so many times, I learned that it was all one great big bluff and gave up caring about it. You see, recovery from anxiety is not about avoiding the symptoms, distraction or applying any other technique so that you don’t feel the symptoms (same as avoidance), recovery lies in going through that storm, not around it, but through it, again and again and again until the brain realises that there is nothing to fear and stops pumping those chemicals around your body in preparation for the person to fight or make a run for it.

Very well said, Beevee, you truly understand Claire Weekes' method of acceptance and have had the persistance to apply it successfully to your own life. Many people pay tribute the Claire's words but then fall at the fence when it comes to turning learning into practice.

When you have a breakdown, I'm talking about retiring to a darkened room for several days wondering how you're ever going to function again and there are dependents and a job to consider, then meds are a must in my opinion and that is the choice I took on two occasions. Clearly you're a tougher man than me, Beevee. But my understanding of Claire's method is stronger now whereas years ago it was shallow and with her help I don't think the darkened room will beckon again.

Hi Kevoreally,

If you are looking for an alternative to the prescription drugs you can visit your pharmacist for a medication review and suggestions for natural remedies. You might also try a homeopath or a Ayurvedic practitioner (something I recently heard about)

Yeah i have my 5 year natural remedy trials and errors of my own but sometimes they wil lwork and sometimes they wont but i think having a prescription drug yhat will deff diffuse anxiety in the moment as a back up plan last case scenario may help me be at ease tbh but i doubt id ever take it just knowing its there may even be enough!

I have tried st joh warts i have tried magnesium i have tried some form of droplets even tried

Some stuff jeff mentioned haha

I really want xanax as a back up plan but no dr in my area wants to prescribe it IDK WHY other than what they tell me and its not acceptable haha

Exactly what do they tell you? I'm serious.

Not going to discuss. Just going to tell. .5 mg under the tongue generic form of Xanax will kill a panic attack.

Ok, so they're covering their asses. Sorry you're in NY. You know why they won't RX.

1) Even regular generic Xanax enters and leaves your body's chemistry quickly. If you end up using it regularly and then stop, side effect can be big time; Can be a malpractice suit for the MD.

2) Street value is very high and MD does not want to screw with regular urine tests.

About two years ago I was feeling great, didn't think I needed to take my daily 1 mg generic Xanax for just two days.

Wrong. Two gran mal seizures....ended up in hospital for three days and had a fractured vertibrea...you have read my story before, I am sure.

My body chemistry reacted that quickly and violently to Xanax not being there.

12th Commandment is Thou shall not stop any medication suddenly. Use MD help.
