Hi tracy, is this the first time you have sought help for your panic attacks? there are other treatments besides medication, was this discussed at all?

no it was not x

Hi Tracy

Yes I have heard of those tablets & was once along with other tablets given them & I never tried them as hollow says there are other treatments

With all tablets there can be side effects , & like you i worry about the side effects thinking they will kill me if I take them , so you are not on your own there with that thought

But people also take tablets & find that is best for them , each person is different & if you do take or dont take tablets , its whatever is best for you

I have never heard of anyone dying through taking them , but I no that doesnt help when you have that thought

You could always just take it a day at a time & take your dose & keep posting for support & see how you feel , or if you really cannot or dont want to , then go back & talk with your GP & see if there is something else

Let us no how you go & easier said than done , but try not to worry , you are not alone with this

Hi Tracy

I m sorry u re not well..U re very anxious at the moment .Nobody dies for a tablet unless they are allergic to it.Give it a go for a while but if u see any bad changes in yourself u can go back to Gp and try something different.u re doing well,u re asking for help and this is a first step.Don t be afraid let people and med doing their course..and be patient it takes time.Sometimes can happen to be given a meds that doesn't t work for us but we have the right and choice to go back and ask for something different.(like happened to me).Don t be afraid just make sure ire not allergic to the meds.Be strong!

4 years is a long time to have suffered. If you trust your doctor and told him how bad you felt, I am sure he's prescribed what he's felt best. For sure, he wouldn't prescribe something that would kill you! Accept the fact you are at last seeking help and WILL get better. I take many drugs at the moment for health reasons not connected with depression and have had no significant side effects fortunately. My depression has finally surfaced again since Xmas and I've already been to the doctors and look forward to the day when I feel better. Is there a self-help group near you as it's sometimes theraupeutic to take with others who understand. Good luck.

chronic sress is the root cause of panic attacks..you neednot panic about panic.you can overcome this. you must do relaxing and calming breathing practices, meditation.healthy diet, exercise, yoga, peaceful sleep, soothing music, aroma therapy, megamulti vitamin mineral formula, will bring great relief.omega3 fish oil caps,b-complex vitamins with magnesium and calcium will help greatly.besides powerful nutritional medicines like adapton, theanine, panax ginseng, siberian ginseng, reishi, aswagandha can offer great protection from panic attacks.

hi tracy, sertraline is a drug i rely on for my ptsd, i have been on it for 20 years now and had no adverse reactions to it. i do take eflexor and pregabalin and these take the edge off. i also see a psychologist to talk about my issues, and he has taught me how to cope with my life . do go back to your G.P if you are worried about any medication , and ask for a referal to a specialist to deal with your panic attacks, there must be a more deep rooted problem to why you are having them , and they need to be addressed.

hope this helps tracy... take care
