Can I ask do you mean detached as in emotionally from the world or as in your body from your head it's just that in anxiety the latter can happen whereby your mind and body seem to be two separate entities I know this from experience. If you mean from the world then Prozac can do that, I've never taken it but I've worked in mental health long enough to know it can be a reaction to the drug.

Hi Milo, I thought I answered this but can't see my reply so apologies if I'm repeating myself. I started life as an NA then did my training then left the dark side and now I'm an advocate.

thank you Hollow for your reply.i would have to say mind and body feel to separate entities,it has settled down somewhat since i first posed the question, but the sensation or feeling got me very curious.

is it called detachment ? I had this at xmas and found it quite scary as did my husband. Glad to say it only lasted 2 days..I suppose it was a rest from me being anxious instead as I found during these 2 days the anxiety lessened. I saw the crisis team who were not any help whatsover.. Hope Hollow that you are ok at the moment x

Thank you Lotty. If I could take away the physical side of my anxiety I'd be fine. Started with a new therapist today preparing me for EMDR sessions which I'm hoping will put an end to my anxiety. Hoping you are well.

i can relate to your comment Lotty,i managed to get hold of a psychiatric occupational therapist friend of mine earlier, and she described a similar scenario to yours, thanks for your feedback, much appreciated.:)

apparently it happens when your body and mind have had enough stress to the point of overload .. I also suffer time to time with pyschosis when really anxious or stressed .. I was embarrassed to tell ppl at first but now hey... when I bring it into a conservation it either livens it up or kills it... As you can see I am quite flippant and use humour to cope x

sweet dreams everyone .. tomorrow is a new day on the hamster wheel of life xx

gnite
