Trying to relax today

Hi all today I have a day to myself with nothing to do apart from food shop and a shower, which I badly need. Had a terrible week, really stressful and had headaches all week and poor appetite. Trying my best to switch off today but can't help but think about all the appointments next week for mental health and social work, meeting with my keyworker as well as currently living in supported accommodation. Living with social anxiety and ocd this is all very overwhelming and difficult. I'm trying to compartmentalise the upcoming week and break it down, just take one day at a time, as it comes and prepare myself as best as I can. So I had a long lie today just to try and rest my central nervous system which has been up to high doe all week. Hope I can just enjoy the walk to the shops later and get my food shopping without any issues and come back and hopefully enjoy a shower. I know I need one so yeah. I will try !

Hi sorry to hear you have having a rough week I am with you on not looking forward to appointments etc they get me jittery it is horrible. It sounds like you have some good strategies though. I found exercise (walking) helpful as well as TRE (Trauma Releasing Exercises) a friend sent me this free course that the TRE people developed during covid, I found it helpful in calming down the nervous system and it can be done at home as it is online. trecourse.com/courses/. Hope you have a better week soon.
