hi just wondering if anyone has any hints/tips on how to overcome this? I only seem to feel anxious when i’m swallowing liquids not food. I panic and convince myself I can’t swallow. Too embarrassed to tell anyone at all and avoid social gatherings if drinking is involved as people always comment that i’ve not drank my drink. Can enjoy a cuppa on my own but if someone else is there i feel like i need to hide to drink it as my throat just will not swallow drinks in front of people! This has been happening for years now. Tried talking to a therapist and it didn’t help. Just want to feel normal again. My throat muscles feel so tense from it all when I think about it. Currently not on any anxiety meds but thinking I may need to go back on them although previously they didn’t seem to help this “sensation”. Please any advice or just to know I’m not alone would be amazing. Thanks so much in advance.
