I suffer with extreme muscle tension and seem to hold myself rigid all the time. Consequently because I am not relaxed I think I must swallow a lot of air when eating, drinking tea especially and maybe even talking. My stomach locks up with all this air and I feel odd and panic, only to belch for quite sometime and then I get relief, its horrible.
Anyone else get similar, any ideas how to syop this happening? I would be grateful for any help, even just to know I'm not alone.
I think there is a term for it called Aerophagia?!
Thanks in advance xx

Think I’ve been suffering from this recently! I found I was burping lots and I wasn’t sure why, it couldn’t have been indigestion as it was before I had eaten so thought it must be something like this and sure enough when I stopped thinking too much about it the frequency reduced.
But I do have a hernia from having a 9lb baby a long while ago.
I feel that my back muscles suffer of compensate for this weakness. I wear a support sometimes especially as I do a lot of hard mountain walking, the support feels good and helps me breathe better.
I was told by the hospital that unless it really affected me they wouldn't operate, so I have just got on with it.
Thinking about it I didn't have this air problem before then.
It's all just a nightmare isn't it. I also get a lot of nausea, because of my tense muscles, if I feel sickly, I panic, then I tense up.... Round Robin!!
