Worried I have MND

Hi,

I have had muscle twitching in my arm constantly for 2 months now and is now also affecting the right side of my body. Anxiety is through the room as it’s a classic symptom of MND.

Has anyone else had constant twitching in their arm for this long?

Thanks

MND is quite rare. Go to see a neurologist. I wouldn't even be inclined to waste time with a gp. I think the odds favor your anxiety being relieved.

hi ,

I’m not sure if you are still getting these muscle twitches but I just thought I would drop you a message . So I have for the past year had constant muscle twitching and started in my right arm and has gradually gone all over my body . I have had tests which was a MRI-EMG-BLOOD WORK and nothing is showing any thing up . I have been under a private neurologist and he has basically said sometimes people suffer this and may have it constantly or goes away but it’s just one of those things . I thought I would tell u this as I’ve struggled to find any one with this and sometimes it’s just nice to know others have it as well .

I hope you are doing ok and can get some answers .

Like someone else said on this board MND is so rare but like you it still doesn’t stop me being scared it’s not 🙄.

Hi Moonbug, thank you for getting in touch. I still have the arm twitch 24/7 that I’ve had for 4 months now. It has spread to the right side of my body only which is really odd but 90% of twitching is still in my arm. I had a private EMG at 3 months that came back clean but will have another one in 3 months to rule out the nasty stuff. As long as you don’t have weakness then all should be ok but BFS is what we probably have which is very annoying. How long was the twitching in your arm before it spread ? Thanks

hi waltt46 ,

I can’t actually remember how long I had it before I started feeling it in other places . I’ve had mine over a year now so it’s all kind of gone in to one I can’t even remember a time with out a body part twitching 🙄even my tongue twitches 😫. That’s great news you had a emg come back negative and getting another one in 3 months fingers crossed for you . It just really bugs my mind sometimes of how does this just suddenly come on out of no where. Did you get a covid vaccination ? I only ask this as I had my 3rd one and it was 8 weeks after it this all started so I just wonder if there could be a link but doesn’t seem to be any info any where .

Hopefully one day we will wake up twitch free 😀

It’s so annoying isn’t it. I just woke up with it one day but it came on a few months after the vaccination so don’t think it’s related for me, though there are hundreds of posts where twitching has started after the vaccinations so don’t rule it out!

Are too a member of the support group on FB for BFS? If not it is Worthing joining, there are hundreds of us folks. Glad you are good after a year, least you can rule out the nasty stuff at least. I wake up everyday preying its gone and then I get that twinge and my heart sinks.
