throat pain right side

hi guys sooo been 12 weeks when I swallow I get this pain on the right side of the throat it’s like a pain that last 0.3 seconds or so and if I’m laying down in bed and swallow it’s on top of hyoid bone

been Seen by 4 drs had bloods full count and thyroid 2 times had a ultrasound and eveyrhing was really good. Yet still have this discomfort pain on swallowing on right side

So I’ve asked to be reffered to ENT

If I eat I am fine no pain, cold stuff make it better and differnt neck position swallowing is okay

I noticed if I swallow with alot of saliva and really slow there’s no pain

What could this be… I still belive drs are missing something . The sonographer said if I had a neck like yours I would be pretty happy but I still think there’s something there

Go with the science! This pain is probably you allowing your thoughts to get the better of you. Especially as all tests are negative.

So why have they referred me to ENT And it’s not anxiety causing the pain each time I swallow it feels like a spot inside that’s being touch everytime the bone goes upTo swallow lol

Shamila, I'm no doctor but what you describe is a quite common symptom of anxiety called Globus Hystericus. There may be a more modern name for it but people frequently present here of on other anxiety forums reporting it.I had it in the 1990s and was eventually sent to have a barium meal, a type of x-ray that shows what's going on in your throat. I was told everything was perfect and the reassurance worked: I stopped worrying and forgot about it and shortly after noticed that it had resolved. So the cure was to accept it for the time being and break the vicious circle of anxiety causing the symptom causing anxiety causing the symptom and so on. So see what the ENT comes up with and if they can't find anything then I'd accept that it's the Globus Hystericus that's to blame.
