fluoxetine

I've had high blood for several years now. I've had my ups and downs going to doctors and other medical personnel. I finally talked to my doctor (P.A.) and talked to her about my anxiety.i finally have gottena prescription for it. It'sbeen.blessing in a way because it has helped me lower my blood pressure too. I still have the white syndrome yet as my readings were a little elevated but not in the sense where it's bothersome for the doctor to see. The problems I'm having is not being able to wake up as well or early. Also I am tired throughout the day. Has snyone run into this problem? I can't get very motivated and it's hard on me because I love the outdoors.Of course I've fell asleep at work a couple times too. Not a good thing at all for me.

I hope it works for you. Sometimes SSRIs can make you feel tired or apathetic. Often this wears off though, so see how you feel after a couple of months if this is the only side effect and it's not bothering you too much. You've done the right thing x

Hi and thank you for your post.A new medication sometimes takes a while for your body to accept it, even weeks.

You may even have to change the time of day when you take it e.g. morning to night to overcome day time drowsiness

Keep a diary for a few weeks to record when you take it, any side effects, mood score out of 10. There are templates on the internet if you prefer over a notebook.

This information is valuable & guides the prescriber when they do your medication review.

Hoping fluoxetine is the drug for you.

Regards from Oz 🦘

Thank you for your input. Didn't think of a diary. Just figured doctor just wanted to know how it affects me.

A diary of point scores each day can really help a doctor understand the severity and periodicity of your condition. It can be very helpful indeed. I just note down every day in my calendar a score out of ten for Anxiety and Depression. E.g. A:1 D:2.

Then after a while you can plot the results against the dates if you like. 🙂

Sounds like a good thing to do. I've been taking the pills for 7 weeks now. Still have the tiredness that i have had.

I.had blood test taken. All seems good. I do take ambien er at nite so will try to cut back on that a bit to trial. Otherwise I may have to decide if my being in a better place in my mind or if sleep is more important.
