I started this med 7 weeks ago now, 20mg, and for a few weeks i just feel as if ive got a permanent lump in my throat, the sort of lump you get when you want to cry. What is it? Is it the anxiety fighting the meds, and will i have it permanent because it really annoys me

My aunty was on sumthing else and she went to the doctors and he put it down to nerves. Wen I'm really anxious I get it still, I had it the this wk for a few days and now its beginning to go. X

Years ago, doctors used to refer to this feeling as "globus hystericus", meaning a feeling of a globe or lump in the throat which had an emotional cause.
Mostly, when the symptoms are checked out by a doctor, no physical cause can be found, so it is attributed to being due to anxiety and tension. Simply knowing that can often help a person to be able to ignore it and it goes eventually.
I'm about to start these, do they help at all?
im into week 7 20mg, i think they are helping, didnt have any side effects except my anxiety felt a bit worse last week, not too bad this week
ive been in theses for over wo years now and been on them in the past. that lump in your through def sound like anxiety, i get it and as daft as it sounds you need to relax and stop focusing on it and it should subside......i know easier said than done right, i know. x
