I was already dealing with a really painful breakup after a 3.5 year relationship but now I'm also being stalked and harassed by a guy my ex dated right after breaking up with me. She doesn't seem interested in helping and now my anxiety is so bad I can't function. I've lost 20 lbs in the past 2 weeks. I'm barely eating, can't sleep and can't function during my day. My PCP won't prescribe medication to help and my therapist thinks my PCP should, so a stalemate there. In the meantime, I'm spiraling down and can't stop the flood of anxiety and emotions. I'm posting here to see if this community understands what I'm going through. I am just looking for support.

Your health is most important here. I highly recommend talking with your PCP about alternative methods to sleep and reduce your reactions to stress. Some people like special teas. If you can afford a Naturopathic doc, they can be helpful, too. Seek restorative sleep for your overall health and to help you think straight. You've given the stalker power in your thoughts and you need to take it back. This is probably caused by lack of sleep. If you've lost weight quickly, you may have depleted yourself and need some vitamin rich foods with B's, and magnesium (I wouldn't take magnesium pills, by the way because they're too strong and act like a laxative). I highly recommend the 7-11 brand of sugar free electrolyte drink. And take walks in a different part of town to clear your head.

Hey, Have you consulted a cognitive behaviour therapist? I also suffered from anxiety issues after a relationship breakup for three years. I could not manage the situation, and the incident completely shattered me; I lost my sleep, couldn't eat, and lost interest in living. When I started showing weird behaviour and shut myself in a room to avoid social contact, my friend took me to visit an anxiety therapist(cognitivebehaviourtherapyto... who gave my life back. His therapy sections showed me that a breakup is not the end of life. Many people around me liked me; all I needed to do was look! I started to change myself, and now I'm perfectly all right without any medications. I came out of my anxiety and am very thankful to my anxiety therapist.
Hi, how are you doing now? Has your condition improved? It's awful that you had to go through such horrible symptoms, I hope you got help in the end. When you can barely function, you're not able to use coping skills, control your emotions, which puts you further away from healing. I'm sure the PCP was wrong not to prescribe the medication you needed. When I was suffering from frequent panic attacks, my therapist recommended using telehealth (e.g. medvidi.com/services/anxiet... because there you can always book a same day appointment and get medication quickly. In my experience, online services are very convenient, especially if help is needed urgently.
