Hi can anyone relate I have had pain under chin right side when I was swallowing not a sore throat dr said it was a infection gave antibiotics, pain eased of and came back k went back she said it’s nothing . It went better for few days and back again. I can eat and drink fine , hurts to touch aswel

I’m scared it’s cancer or some sort of tumour dr said it’s not but why does the pain keep coming n going

Hi shamila, I was wondering if you have seen your dentist regarding this painunder your chin. There are so many muscles and nerves in that area which can

be tensed when we are anxious. Sometimes, it could be that you grind your teeth

w/o knowing when you sleep or your bite could be off causing this on and off distress.

I use to clench when driving and find excruciating pain under the jaw as it would

go into spasm and then release. This is just a thought. I hope you get some answers.

Thinking it's Cancer is wearing you down mentally and physically. Sometimes just knowing that it's nothing catastrophic can make the pain go away completely. good luck dear :) xx

I promise promise you if Dr had any suspicion at all you would be at the Hospital by now. That word is evil itself. Your problem is not the symptoms of it. The trouble is we want our I s dotted and our t s crossed. Drs don’t know a thing about how some peoples minds work. I thought Drs knew better than giving antibiotics when time will heal. I don’t know why when we worry about this that or the other we get peculiar things wrong and so worry all the more. I understand the doubt creeps in. Accept you have a type of infection but it will not hurt you. Get well soon!!!

Hi Shamila, I can sympathise with your anxiety.

I am currently going through a very similar experience. I have a lump/ swelling on my thyroid gland. Was discovered through a sore throat/ flu like symptoms where I was put on antibiotics. I got better but the sore throat comes back and the lump is still there.

I have had a full blood count and thyroid levels are fine but awaiting an ultrasound.

It is scary when you don’t know what it is.

If your blood tests were in the range then that is very positive.

Anxiety can cause physical symptoms too!

You aren’t alone, we are in this together😊
