Hi! March hasn’t been my best month I’ve had bad panic attacks which lead me to the hospital 3 times and each time i was diagnosed with anxiety and i’ve never in my life had anxiety and panic attacks up until then and it was out of the blue. Since last may my periods would be 2/3 months long with 2 week or a few days break so my GP checked my iron and it was really low and my vitamin D was low as well so they started me off with Ferrous Sulfate everyday and Vitamin D every week. Since then my energy as come back because at first i literally would be out of breath walking 2 feet and wouldn’t do anything. It’s been almost a month since i started taking the pills they gave me RELIGIOUSLY I NEVER MISS A DAY!!!! But now it’s hard to concentrate sometimes, intrusive thoughts that last a few seconds, and sometimes i don’t feel in touch with reality DP/ DR…last a few seconds and at random ? I really don’t know what to do i’ll be 21 in 2 weeks and i can’t keep feeling like this. Any suggestions or any stories like mine? I really miss the girl i use to be before all this started happening like i said i have my energy back but i don’t know if these symptoms are going to get better with time on the vitamins and it’s just because my levels are restoring or what. THANKS In ADVANCE
Low Vitamin D/ Low iron: Hi! March hasn’t... - Anxiety Support
Low Vitamin D/ Low iron
I would speak to your doctor first. There may be an alternative with less side effects
Sorry to hear about this.
Are you having any thing going on personally/ relationship or work wise? That May subconsciously be stressing you out? I feel your pain completely bc I’m in the same spot with the DP/DR and panic attacks. Low levels of iron and vitamin deficiency can cause a lot of issues so y’all to your dock and see if there’s something different you can try, ( or see if you drinking sports drinks with those vitamins in it??) I know sometimes vitamins like D can have an ungodly amount that your body just gets rid of the excess and maybe just makes you jittery or anxcious too, that’s what I’ve personally notice but that’s just me. You’ll get through this!
Hi! I had the same issue. Do you know why you have low iron? (could be heavy periods, poor diet, gut issues...)Low iron and Vit D deficiency can also start a vicious circle with hormone production and cause imbalances that will not help with your anxiety. 21 is also a particular age where we find ourselves at the start of our adult life and feel the pressure to make the first important life choices. My best bet is that it could be a mix of things, but of course I'm talking about personal experience and this is just an opinion! However if I was you I would try and investigate with my doctor why you have the low Iron and then go from there 😊
Hope you feel better soon. It's difficult with anxiety. But there is light at the end of the tunnel.
