Anybody taking Gabapentin for pain relief ? GP just put me on this for ongoing back pain that moves around. I have only taken 3 so far. No relief this early on I imagine.
If you take it, how long before it works in the long term.

I have not personally taken that medication, but I know someone who does. They were only seeing improvements after a week, or so. Most medications can take time to work. Side effects may come, and go, and our body will ultimately find a homeostasis. That can take different time periods for different people. Sorry that you are going through this, I cannot even imagine. Hugs!
Many thanks for that info. Have had back pain for nearly 2 months now. I will be 80 years old in June. It's all very well for GP to give you pain relief. The days of being referred or even being examined by your GP seem to have vanished. As my husband says on waiting to be seen for days "I'll get the hearse to drop me off" !!
Warbaby42 Love your sense of humor. I have a friend who swears by gabapentin. I have neck and back issues but I take 800mg of ibuprofen. I was prescribed gabapentin after my knee was replaced. Be careful and I hope your back eases up. There is a roll on I use called Bio Freeze and Tiger Balm. Works pretty good for me. The latter being better.
Thanks for your comment. Looks like gabapentin works well. I have noticed a difference. I got up this morning without being in agony, although it is still nigglingi n the background. Yes, I use tiger balm. Haven't heard of bio freeze. Hope your knee replacement has improved your life. No joke getting old is it ? Me & hubby who is disabled helps me as best he can and I do a lot for him. We often say to each other it is like the blind leading the blind. Sense of humour is a must. All the best to you.
