So around Christmas time I got hit with bronchitis. No big deal I’ve had it before. But for some reason I had this feeling of impending doom and it hasn’t gone away since. Now I’ve had shortness of breath and chest pain since the beginning of January. I went to my doctors and she told me “you’re 27. You’re lungs are healthy, your heart is healthy, calm down.” I do try to calm down and relax but nothing seems to help. I talk to my coworkers and friends and I usually feel better. But when I’m quiet is when it starts to get bad again. The one thing that freaked me out was reading that a upcoming heart attack can present the same symptoms I have. My doctor does a great job listening to me and I do trust her and her opinion. I just don’t know how to get this feeling of “well let’s hope I wake up tomorrow” or “dang this could be my last time leaving the house” out of my head.

Hi kstith19, Welcome!I agree with your doctor in that you are young at 27 y.o. and the chances of having
a heart attack are small. However, once we read something negative, it's hard
to reverse the thoughts in our mind. But it's important to try.
I've had bronchitis myself and was told by the doctor that it can take up to 3 months
to completely clear up. In your case, I believe that Health Anxiety has moved in for
a while and feeding your subconscious mind with all kinds of issues.
Give it a little more time in healing. Believe in your doctor. Stay Positive, Hydrate and
Stay Safe from the virus. Feel better soon xx
