Is this a false positive for Covid?? My son first tested positive last January 6. Do these results indicate that he’s no longer infectious?

Thank you for any input by our community members. I don’t know how interpret these results on my own so I need any help that I can get.

The term "false positive" is actually misleading, because the PCR is more sensitive than the LFD test, and will pick up virus levels below those likely to cause transmission (see graph below). This may be why the government website (nhs.uk/conditions/coronavir... suggests not carrying out a further PCR test within 90 days of the first positive test. If your son has been self-isolating for at least 5 days and tests negative with 2 LFDs (on two consecutive days), then I would interpret that as being clear (nhs.uk/conditions/coronavir..., but you should check with NHS111 first.
