Started Zoloft last night 25 mg

Was wondering if y'all had any input on the medication? I went to a counselor and found out I'm border line clinical depression! 😳 I never would have thought that. But anywho, thanks in advance for any advice

I started off with zoloft 150mg 5 years ago and it worked very well for me. Panic attacks stopped, anxiety stopped, life was much happier. It took me about 2 weeks for the medicine to come into effect. But recently my depression and anxiety has been coming back. Maybe because I'm only on 25mg right now but I don't want to raise the dose anymore and rely on medication forever.

Did you ever experience a hyper feeling when you first take it?

Nope, I had no side effects. But I did get one panic attack within the 2 weeks I started taking it. But after that, absolutely none.

Zoloft didn't work for me but we are all different. a few people at my work (stressful place :) are on Zoloft and they love it! I've heard it takes about 2 weeks to kick in.

Thanks y'all I'm on 25 mg to start. This is my third day. It seems like a hour or so after I take it I feel super hyper and energized it's weird... and then I crash. That kind of worrys me... idk if it's normal or not. I have noticed I'm a little more happy and tolerating things throughout my day better

Well that's a good start, I'd stick with it for at least 1-1¹/² months as drugs can take that long to get into and settle down in your system. I take 225mg of venlafaxine (effector xl) the brand, have done in various dose's for 15 years with no adverse side effects, but I do still get depressed now and again on them, that's why the ECT now aswell to bring me up quicker, so I say stick with it and take the positive from it and build on it, the drugs are a tool to help when your down and give you the strength to learn how to be happy. Glad they received starting to work for you, anything that makes your thinking clearer is a bonus... Take every moment as it comes, it will help. 😁

Steve.

Thanks so much Steve. Today is my fifth day. I've been doing alright but today I've been sooo tired. To the point I didn't think I could stay awake driving.... but it seems to come in waves like I'll be super tired one moment and alright the next. Also I'm like wanting to eat everything! Lol

I seriously hate having to take medication... I've almost considered quitting taking it... but i know I should aleast give it time to see if it will help

I meet with my counselor again next Friday. Hoping for the best 🙂

Like I said b4, it takes time to settle down, don't quit! If u were a diabetic you would take the insulin, or if you had a heart problem you would take beta blockers or asperin ! There is no difference... A medical problem just the same, it is only the "stigma" of it that clouds our judgement... Those days are going.... THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE! YOU STICK WITH IT Girl! Nothing to be ashamed of. (it's them that are scared of it) use it, play em up lol😈😇. Steve
