Hi milo sorry you feel so rough. Me too. I'm trying the mirtazapine. It could be your illness making you worry. Try to get out and meet people as well. That helps me. stillstanding.

Hello Milo, I have 30 mg Mirtazipine which I take at night to help me sleep - I have found it ok, no more beneficial than an ssri for me, but everyone is different. Even though I take it at nite it doesnt always help me to get off to sleep, and Im taking one tablet every othe night to try and wean myself off. I have never taken more than that as Im trying to come off drugs - I only ever took max 2 types, one of which I have finished and now left with the mirtzpine. My best medicine is getting out meeting people, diversion helps for me.

Sideeffects for me putting on weight - not huge amounts but more than i like.

Hi milo well done for getting out. I agree with acallow about trying to distract yourself. I've not had pins and needles, but have had other stomach pains and being sick yesterday. I'm finding being on the computer helping pass a bit of time and knowing someone out there understands.

Well done for going out - even though it was accompanied by pins and needles - no i dont get that but get fast heart beat, shaky all over and the worst is my mind goes absolutely blank and cant think straight. I tried Citalopram , my GP suggested it, but didnt suit me at all. I only like to be on one medication, I have always said that - and Im slowly slowly coming off that, is it because my anxiety is any better - no - its because ive tried a load of medication over the years and the thing that helps is either writing it out like this, or keeping busy. The best life lesson I have learnt is to try and live with anxiety, just accept that part of you is like that.

Everyone who suffers with anxiety is very brave, it takes all your strength some days just to get out the door, but, you must keep going, - most people dont have a choice anyway.

I have had some of the worst years of my life recently, but ive been through enough life to know that i and everyone else will survive.

Hi

I have been on Mirtazipine for about 10 months, I started on 15mg per night. It does not get into your system for about 2 weeks. I take it just before I go to sleep and before I count to 20 I am in deep sleep. I take it for Anxiety. It does have a calming effect however It did not cure me 100%. I was told that if you increase it to 30mg it will make you less sleepy and increase the benefit. Unfortuantly ithe increase made me more agitated so I went back to 15mg and back to square one. I am still taking them every night but also I am having Hypontherapy treatment to help me relax. You have to attack anxiety on all fronts a pill is not the single answer. So diet, read books about it, try CBT, try relaxation remedies, music CDs, exercise. good luck Kevin
