Hi Maria.

Try reading Self Help for your nerves by DR Claire Weeks. It’s really helping me. It’s all about acceptance. I can’t recommend it enough. Many of us on here swear by it.

I’m the same. Didn’t want to have any tablets. Didn’t help me.

But this book is magical !

Can buy it on Amazon 😊

Ahhhh so that’s the book I couldn’t remember but seen people raving about it! I’ll get on amazon! Thankyou so much! There’s so many books etc but I wanted something that people actually found helped instead of wasting money and time xx

Can I ask what the reason we’re you did not want to take the med? I have been on it since March 5 take 12g one a day at night and has been so magical that I can even say how it has changed my life from all this horror to back to being normal again!

A few reasons , they don’t work for everyone , they’re really hard to withdraw from & side affects , it’s great they’re working for you

With respect Maria, how do you know they don't work for everyone, they're really hard to withdraw from and they have side effects if you haven't started taking them yet? But I know what you mean, I blame the pharmaceutical companies who print just about every side effect they can think of on the leaflet that comes with them to cover themselves.

If you do decide to buy that Claire Weekes book Miss-P74 recommended its title in the U.K. is 'Self help for your nerves' but in the U.S. it's titled 'Hope and help for your nerves' it's the same book. You can order it new or used on Amazon or you can buy a pre-owned copy on ebay for about £$2.50 including postage.

As far as natural remedies are concerned, Lemon Balm has natural tranquilising properties, you can get it in tablet form from health food stores.

Because I know many people that have tried them or on them , so I’ve been told about different experiences from them.

Thank you :)

I have heard a few things about the CBD oil, the only caffeine I have is in lucozade but I’ve been cutting that down a lot aswell, I don’t drink at all either , I wouldn’t mind but I don’t rarely go anywhere and that’s when I’m most anxious x

Yeah I think I’ll do my research so I know what it does etc, I know there’s all different strengths etc but I’ll give it a good go I think anything has to be better than the other drugs 😣

I am certain my anxiety was medically induced as a result of anesthesia, so I understand your desire to try natural methods. My doctor recommended I drink a probiotic smoothie made from kefir. I faithfully drank it everyday for a year along with other supplements - magnesium, Vitamin D - and have found relief from the anxiety. After research, I found that gut health (or lack thereof) contributes to anxiety. I now drink the smoothie several times a week and have noticed anxiety from time to time and am pretty certain I can correlate it to when I go longer than a week without the smoothie. It took almost a year before my anxiety subsided, but I do think there’s a definite link to gut health and anxiety after having gone through this. Best wishes to you in finding what works for you!
