Hello everyone, had an awful weekend of worry, my dog is not himself and he is only just turned one. Had him to the vets and they couldn’t find anything obvious wrong so sent me away £50 shorter but he is making this odd honking sound and sounds really congested in his nose. I’m so attached to him and he has been such a good companion since my dad died 3 months ago. My dad is the person I would go to with my worries and though I have my own family, dad said the right things. I feel so sad today, I’m fed up of looking at my sad face and turned down mouth. Just want everything to be ok 😟

Constant worrying
Hi L1974This sounds like kennel cough. My dog had this 2 months ago and the vet gave him antibiotics. Please contact your vet again because it's very treatable and your best friend will be back to his normal self in no time. I hope this reassures you a little.
sometimes the honking is a type of sneeze dogs have called reverse sneezing. Or could be a weak trachea. If the dr can treat the cough& allergies, it makes the trachea better. What breed is ur dog? Mine’s a pug.
Hi he is a shih tzu he is the loveliest boy. I took him back to the vets she said to give him piroton, his nose is still running but he is more like himself the last couple of days playing etc. He has done a few reverse sneezes but it’s more like big snorts and lots of noise when cleaning himself. The vet checked his neck etc. Just hoping it’s a bit of a cold and he will be better soon? Such a worry.
