COVID-19 vaccine : Hi Im 23 and was so... - Anxiety Support
COVID-19 vaccine
Which vaccine did you have?
Pfizer xx
So did I. The worst I had was a sore arm both times. Others have had headaches or felt very tired and fluey for a few days. That's it.
I did meet one chap who had a very bad reaction to it but this came on within minutes of the second jab. He was told any serious side effects like his would only come on straight afterwards and not hours or days later. I hope that reassures you. That is why they ask you to wait 15 minutes afterwards just in case,
Relax, nothing bad is or will happen. My 3 sons, all in their early 20s, got the vaccine and all had headaches as a symtom; one had a headache for a week. They are all fine now. My wife and i had only a sore arm after the two dose vaccine. Replace ur negative anxious thoughts with positive thoughts of pride, knowing what u have done is safe and protects u and others from this potentially deadly disease.
Btw, stop reading the scary stories. That is what is making u anxious. I workout at a local gym and many of the 20 age group folks said that got a headache from the vaccine (very common) and none got sick or were anxious because they KNOW it is common and harmless. Not many older folks complained about headachs but rather fever and chills....regardless everyone i know with vaccine symtoms is fine and covid free. Now i do know a few who did not get the vaccine and died from covid, poor folks. So u are good! Do yourself a favor and stop reading bad stuff on the internet...regardless of the subject. Bad news is bad for the brain.....read happy stuff.
Please don't worry it's great that you got it done Only ever listen to experts who know what they are talking about
I had a rotten headache with both my jabs but only for a couple of days x
Well done that took some doing and you faced your fear You can get headache it is nothing to worry about it goes and if course because we are getting anxious then that makes the headache worse
You will be fine , try and relax x
Thanks so much❤️
You should expect to get side effects from a vaccine if it's working properly, because it is a sign your immune system is responding. You don't say why you were nervous about getting the jab, but I imagine it is because of concerns over blood clots, etc. Unfortunately, there has been little attempt in the media to get this in proportion and, when it does happen, it's often tucked away in an obscure report somewhere. Where the information has been published, it shows that you are about 1000 times more likely to die of COVID than from the vaccination; if people realised the overwhelming odds, getting a jab would be a no-brainer!
I had a really bad headache and fever and body aches for a couple of days and then it went away. Very common to have a left over headache.
When you feel crummy after a vaccine, it means it is working.
In the U.K. the professional estimate is that our vaccination programme has saved 100,000 lives so far. There's nothing else to say.
