I got my first Moderna shot a few weeks ago and I haven’t felt the same since. Numbness in legs and arms occasionally, constant tongue numbness and intense head pressure. I immediately didn’t feel right after the shot and ever since that day my symptoms haven’t gone away. I went to the ER a few days after my shot and then one more time after that and they said it was anxiety. I saw a neurologist today and she said my symptoms sounded like anxiety and she prescribed me medication for my head pressure and referred me to physical therapy. I did not mention the shot because I wasn’t thinking of it at the time, I was thinking brain tumor or MS etc. Then when I got home, I ran into my neighbor and he told me he was moving to help his daughter since she had a stroke 8 days after her first Moderna shot and cannot function anymore. She was a healthy young woman. Now I am freaking out thinking it’s the shot that is causing this and I’ll never feel normal again. And what if I had a stroke or am about to have one. I wish I just kept walking inside instead of stopping to talk to him because now I can’t stop worrying about it. I regret getting the shot now.

In the trials which I believe enrolled about 30,000 people, as far as I know there were no strokes or tongue numbness. It sounds like anxiety. Be glad that you are protected.

Your welcome. I think things will calm down gradually as you relax. xx

I'm not a doctor but I think it's anxiety too . I've had both Moderna shots and I'm a 50 year old woman. In my case the first shot didn't affect me that much but the second shot did. For a few days I had to be very careful standing and walking after the 2nd shot and I was very tired. I'm okay now though. It's a good thing you're getting vaccinated. Just take it easy. Turn off the news if it's getting to you.

Thank you :) I’m 27 years old with no known health issues and I didn’t think I was nervous when I got my shot, but immediately after the shot, my fingers locked up and my body and mouth went numb and throat felt like it was closing up and pressure in my head was intense and I was really dizzy. I haven’t felt the same since that day. And of course when I ran into my neighbor and he told me about his daughter, my anxiety about my symptoms got a lot worse. I hope it’s all anxiety and will go away soon.

We're all living in a crazy world these days. Just take some deep breaths and try listening to some soft calming music that you like. It's nerve wracking getting these shots, I know. Take one day at a time.

Anxiety is very common post vaccine. The neurologist must have done a physical assessment that would have shown some issue?

The news media is causing a lot of the anxiety that people are feeling.

Check the cdc website for information.

I hope you feel better soon
