I Get my anxiety from my Dad…

I actually witnessed him have an anxiety attack today (his birthday ) during lunch

He seemed out of it irritable kind of sad and he had a faraway “I’m here but I’m not though” type of look in his eyes he tends to pace when he’s anxious and also sleeps early (he normally sleeps late )

Usually he hides it really really really well. But not today

He doesn’t like asking for help

So how can I help him?

I recognize it because that’s exactly how I get

And it scares me to see it reflect on my dad

🥺

Wow Danielle, that has to be very upsetting to see your dad in a state of anxiety.

What you might do to help him (that's depending if he will accept it) is to place both

your hands on his shoulders and press down gently. It will help ground him and then

soft spokenly tell him it's going to be okay and just start breathing with him. This will

help slow down his fast breathing and put him into a state of calm.

Sorry this happened on his birthday but for some unknown reason, the fact in getting

older might have caused it. You're doing good, As many medical issues and events that I have seen in my life, it is ironic that I have never met or seen another person who suffers

from anxiety. :) xx

Agora, you probably have met people who suffer from. anxiety and depression, but most people don't show it, so you would not necessarily know. 😋

Oh I'm sure of that just never during the state of panic. I would be

so ready to help. :) xx

Tell him ...its alright to talk about it....sometimes sharing how you are feeling helps...he is trying to look strong for you.....because he may think any show of emotion is a sign of weakness.....tell him no matter what...you are there for him....if he feels ready to talk or not...it has to come from him.
