How am I suppose to do a job interview when I can’t even order food without getting anxiety. I was ordering chipotle and there’s no drive thru so you have to go in. My heart was racing and it kept pounding and did not slow down at all. I was getting so anxious. I’m 17 without a job cause I know my anxiety’s going to act up while I’m getting interviewed. It did before and that was the worst day ever.

Hi Olivia, Oh I so understand. Life can seem so impossible in going forward because
of the high anxious state we are in all the time. Unfortunately, that level of anxiety does not go down by stepping back and avoiding. What it does when we do that is make our mind
think that it must be true, it must be dangerous if we go forward. And so then we stay stuck
in a cycle of fear. Never being able to achieve the things we want in life.
We have to understand that anxiety doesn't own us. It lies. It sends out negative thoughts to make us think that should we try the same scenario again, the same thing will happen.
But it won't Olivia. The more we try, the less the fear becomes. As you said yourself, it doesn't have to be an interview that raises your adrenaline, it could happen just going into a restaurant. I'm sure a store, a mall, a theater, a church etc will give you those same feelings at first. That is because we need to work in accepting that these feelings are coming from a thought and not a reality.
The more you work on your fears the less fearful you will become. The thoughts will eventually leave you and your physical symptoms will disappear. Have you tried working
on your "breathing techniques" ? If you've ever been to the doctor, dentist or hospital, the
one thing they will all say that's universal is "Relax, just breathe"
There are many great videos on YouTube that can get you started. The key is to practice
daily. It works. xx
