Welcome to this group Kay13. I am glad you felt comfortable to reach out and share. This is a great forum where there are people who struggle with depression and anxiety and understand. I have struggled on and off with depression and anxiety for over 20 years. I remember how each time I go through a depressive episode, I have those uncontrollable shakes, feel overwhelmed and have difficulty leaving my bed. It is such a scary feeling and you feel out of control. Have you been to a doctor for your depression and anxiety? Are you on medication? Do you see a counselor? For me the right combination of medication and counseling helped me feel better. It takes time to find both. It is hard to work on your triggers and coping skills until the chemicals are more balanced in your brain. I have learned thoughts are a huge part of depression and getting them under control is the challenge but is possible. Here is an article (bit.ly/3jK2GQ9) about depression I hope you find it helpful. I will also be praying for you and here anytime if you want to chat. Hugs and God Bless
I don’t take any medication I’ve gone to therapy on and off my whole life and I just recently started going back I really appreciate you guys commenting back and knowing there’s support out there. Thank you
Hello Kay13. I have to say well done for signing up to this site and posting your story, small things like this can seem hard when you are suffering with depression and anxiety so you should be really proud about taking the first steps.
From my experience I would recommend seeing a doctor and tell them as much detail as you feel comfortable with about how you are feeling. They will most likely prescribe an SSRI anti depressant and you will most likely notice a positive change in a few weeks. In the meantime keep remaining strong, you are on the right path.
Hey Kay13, I was having kind of the same symptoms. As much as I didn't want to go on meds, I ended up going to the doctor and starting medicine. I'm glad I did. I only have not had a severe attack since. I also use EFT Tapping that helps when I am feeling overwhelmed or anxious.
How are you doing this week? I have been praying for you. Hugs
