My husband has tinitus but not Menires disease. He was tested many years ago, his tinitus is daily, every once in a while he experiences severe vertigo that lasts up to 24 hours and has to take meds like antivert.
That said, with menires disease usually both hearing and balance are involved not just ringing in the ears and generally these progressively worsen over decades.
So you’ll get a hearing test and balance assessment, test that measures your eye movements. These tests are not invasive or painful.

Sorry to hear your husband is suffering with the horrible T .thank you so much for reply .stay safe x
I have had the minears test. You put on a headset similar to a virtual reality headset and they have you follow dots and stuff with your eyes. The machine records your eye responses.
I will say that the second part of the test was uncomfortable. In fact, I walked out at that point. The technician blew air into my ear with a tool that blows air. This is supposed to trigger your dizzy response so that they can measure your eye movement. For me when the room started spinning I got really scared and I ended the test at that point. I was only dizzy for a few seconds but the technician didn’t warn me that this was going to happen. Some other technicians use a different technique to trigger your dizzy response, but it’s temporary and it’s only for the purposes of measuring your eye movements and how well you respond to being dizzy. Needless to say, I didn’t have Ménière’s disease . I was tested for it because I was experiencing so much dizziness, which is common with anxiety. I wasn’t tested for mineere’s disease because of the ringing in my ears.
