I’m at my wits end just stopped lexapro on it a week I was jumping out of my skin with severe anxiety from this medication I can not take SSRIs they all make me like this. I think I was misdiagnosed with maybe something else that’s why no antidepressants work anyone else like this

Unfortunately, it is not unusual at all for an anti-depressant to cause an uptick in anxiety in the first couple of weeks. Many docs will prescribe another drug, such as a benzodiazepine, to get patients through this time. I always tell those I know who start SSRI to just hang on through this early phase and it will get better. I know how uncomfortable it can be. But if you stop taking it because of side effects (as long as they are not severe), you will just have to start over with the same issues. I’m sorry you are going through this. Has your doc given you a prescription for a benzodiazepine?

Plus severe nausea with all these SSRIs

Hi! I cannot take any anti-depressants either as I either get no help from them or I get terrible side effects and anxiety is one of them. I don't think you have necessarily been misdiagnosed but you may have to go for a more "natural" way of dealing with it. I have been given every known anti-depressant on the market. My Psych doc finally did a DNA test on me to see what is going on. And as we thought, I'm just not one who gets any help from them. There is a name for this but it's slipped my mind at the moment. Nothing new for me, forgetting names of things.

I know how you feel. I can’t tolerate SSRIs at all so I’ve had to deal with my severe anxiety on my own for years. Been trying to find natural ways to cope.

Been on 4 different antidepressants love none worked , now I’m on citalopram it took about 10 weeks to start working though, feel much better but not 100% good luck xx
